Hi!
My daycare provider's daughter is "graduating" from middle school and I'd love to get her a little (around $20) something. I'd love some ideas!

What can I do next?

Hi L.!
Why not get her a gift she can choose herself? A gift album is more personal than a gift card...you give her the album, and she can choose whatever item from the album she wants! There are no added shipping charges, and the items have a 6-month guarantee. Check out the website www.rharms.ordermygift.com for details! I would recommend the Klutz album or the Sweet album in this case! Hope this helps!

I know it's nice to give an actual "gift" but kids that age like cash. So a card with money would be a hit!

Knitting, crocheting, and sewing seem to be making a come-back with girls today. You can buy a dress-makers/crafters sewing machine for about $20. Most craft stores like Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics/Etc. carry how to knit/how to crochet books complete with yarn and needles. There are easy to use looms and jewlery making kits too. Two separate lines of books called Klutz and Chicken in Sox specialize in creative crafts for teens..most bookstores carry them, and Target too.

Does she like books? Perhaps a gift certificate to Barnes and Nobles. A gift certificate to a nice salon for a facial, manicure or pedicure.

A gift is unnecessary L. ~ especially a $20 gift. A card and some flowers would be enough but still unnecessary.

Graduating from middle school is not really a "graduation"... the graduation ceremony is merely a 'coming of age' celebration that schools have adopted to help students make the transition from elementary/middle schools to High School.

Giving a gift at this time might even appear awkward. I'd suggest a card and flowers if you and she are close - and nothing if you don't have a friendship with her but do with her mother. Believe me, her mother doesn't expect anything either.
