We have some a neighbor couple that lives down the street that always gives the kids xmas and bday presents. I am trying to figure out what to do for them for xmas. In the past, I made them a cake for the New Year, but I feel like I really need to have my kids give them something.

I was going to make a bookmark out of leaves my daughter and I collected for the woman, but what can we give them? I don't want to spend much money. They don't need anything --she is retired, their kids are grown, etc. but she is only about 15 years older than me.

What can I do next?

If she likes to drink wine give her a nice bottle of wine and a nice basket of cheese. This time of year they have plenty of kiosks in the mall and they sell the cheese at one of them. I forgot who it is but it is one everyone knows and likes. It sounds like you have a great neighbor and it is nice you want to reciprocate.

We always bake cookies and deliver them to the neighbors with a nice Christmas card.

I was also going to suggest movie passes or a gc to a restaurant, but that can get pricey. Maybe you can make them a meal and deliver it? If you make an especially good lasagna or beef stew, that and some fresh french bread and a nice salad could be a great gift.

My sister in law gave me some great Ideas for my daughters teacher and I think her ideas will work for you. A pointsetta, or a gift card to the local book store(barnes and noble) and the coffee place inside, a personalized ornament is a cheap way to go and have their last name on it, Bath and Body had $10 candles and also sell really yummy smelling hand soaps, Otherwise have your daughter make a hand made snowflake out of paper and have her write a letter to them saying how thankful she is to have them as a neighbor.
Merry Christmas!!!

You can't go wrong with anything personalized by your kids! Handprint ornaments, or the kind that is a lovely frame with a pic of the kids. If you want something a little more detailed, and still not spend much, you can go online and make a personalized calendar with kids pics or your childrens artwork.

Anything homebaked or homemade would be great gifts. Even have the kids help make cookies and a handmade card to go with them.
