Homemade cookies plus a gas card (or Starbucks, those are great too even though I don't drink coffee). And give them a coupon for a sleepover whenever they want "free babysitting" so they can go out one evening.
My daughter is very good friends with a girl down the street. I've met both her mother and grandmother, more than once, and they are very kind. My DD rides her bike to school, but they offered to take her and pick her up on the days that it's rainy or cold and we've taken them up on it about 5 times so far, and once it gets colder, I'm sure it will be more often. I usually bake cookies for the neighbors for the holidays, but I feel like I need to send a BIG thank you to these folks for doing such a good service for us. I really don't know them very well, but I'd like to get a gift card for them for somewhere. But what?? My main thought was Starbucks, but does everyone enjoy that? Im going to make them cookies anyway, but would like a nice gift in appreciation as well. Any thoughts??
I love you ladies! You always help get over my "DUH!" moments! Why didn't I think of a gas card? How perfect! And of course, always a nice thank you card.

a gas card, your home made cookies and a nice note!
I would bring them dinner and dessert or get a gift certificate for a nice restauraunt. I am sure they will appreciate that!

Please don't take this the wrong way I don't mean this as an insult but I hate Starbucks. I don't like fru-fru coffee, too many calories, and their plain black coffee is bitter in my opinion. And even though I get that a gift card comes from the heart I would return it back to you. I wouldn't want it to go to waste but I wouldn't use it.
I think fresh baked cookies is a great idea. How about a gas card? They are using their gas, so even though they are going there anyway, a gas card would be a nice gift.
I find, that writing a hand written thank you note... is always, nice.
Not with generic wording... but wording that comes from your heart and expresses your appreciation... and is meaningful.
And maybe flowers or something, with it.
Simple.
Nice.
Thoughtful.
Gracious.
I don't drink coffee but I still like a Starbucks gift card--travel mugs, cookies, etc.
I think a gas card is perfect since the favor involves driving, don't you agree?
Or a grocery card--everyone can put that to good use!
A handwritten note is always appreciated : ) You could make a gift basket with coffees, teas, hot chocolate mixes, etc., along with the cookies.and tuck in a gas card.
I don't do Starbucks, but like another poster, I immediately thought a gas card would be nice. That and the cookies would be very generous. What great neighbors!
I agree, gas card WITH your cookies :) and maybe a $10 Starbucks for good measure!
Homemade cookies are fantastic. Since your girls are friends, why not give them a night out too? Give them a gift cert. for a nearby restaurant and tell them whenever they want to go out, you'll have their daughter over for a sleepover.
I don't drink starbucks but if I get a gift card for there, I treat my family to sandwiches or a dessert treat, so you don't have to be coffee drinker. In this case tho, I like the gas card and cookies idea!
Cookies, or homemade bread, or whatever you make really well... along with a handwritten thank-you note. Isn't it great to have nice neighbors?
Gas card and some cookies, but I have been finding more and more how nice it is to get a hand written note is something people just don't get that much anymore, so when we do, it just feels so special.
How about a poinsettia to go with your cookies? (If they don't have toddlers or pets that might nibble on it.)
You are nice to be so thoughtful & there are lots of good ideas below.
My daughter was transported a lot to dance earlier this semester but now the dance mom/coach switched us to a much closer studio & my daughter drives herself. I offered her gas money but she declined. I'm thinking of giving her a Visa gift card to cover my bases.
