I sent both the Maternity Area and my OB/GYN office a Mrs. Fields Cookie assortment. I know I love'em!

I didn't give my ob a gift, but I did get something for the labor/delivery nurse who was with me the entire day and for the maternity ward nurses who took care of me after delivery. I bought huge boxes of Fannie May chocolates and delivered them with a thank you note to each. I'm expecting my second in a month or so, and I'm planning to do something similar this time too!

I had a midwife so it was a little different relationship but I got her some books by an author I knew she liked.

As an L & D nurse we often get flowers which are nice or cookies/treats of some sort which are great. As a night nurse I would say remember the night staff if that was who helped you the most and be sure the gift gets to them or they may never know about it.

I did not give the obgyn a thank u gift but it is a lovely idea. I would take in a tray of goodies that they can all share. the care given in a hospital is possible because so many different people are in place for so many different needs. a tray of goodies that all can share would spread around the thanks

I sent the floor two baskets from Great Harvest Bread Company of bread, jams, cookies, coffee, etc. Stuff they can eat on the job. One for the day shift, one for the night shift. I sent the same type of basket to my OB/GYN, right to her office. I had to pay shipping, since I was not mobile at that time. Both thanked me for it. I think food is always a welcome treat when you are working so hard. I doubt I could afford such a gesture now, but perhaps some simple bakery goods in box, tied with a ribbon? Like cookie assortment? Or some breakfast scones or danish from a local bakery?

Congratulations on your new baby!!

I worked on an LDRP unit for a number of years and can recall the unit receiving an assortment of travel size Bath and Body lotion. Might be abit expensive but I am sure that it would be appreciated.
