Gift for at Home Day Care Provider

Please forgive me if this question has been asked recently! My son goes to an at home day care and I am wondering what others do for a holiday gift? Do you give money or an actual gift? I have been planning on giving a gift...but have also heard that parents give out a "bonus" so to speak. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

My home daycare provider was an older lady who charged a ridiculously small amount. Since she charged so little (we offered to pay more but she refused) and since she was on a relatively fixed income, we gave a $100 Christmas bonus and a picture of our son.

I think cash is always appreciated, but any kind of thoughtful gift is fine.

A weeks pay would be an awesome gift for the caregiver!

A gift card for some kind of pampering...mani/pedi, massage, or something like that. Most in home providers work longer hours than us "working outside the home moms" and sometimes twice as hard. They probably don't get alot of time to feel pampered and pretty.

I agree with the last post a monetary gift along with a nice framed picture of your child has always been appreciated by my babysitters. We just moved away, but the babysitter was considered part of the family since she was the away from home mommy. I also had the kids make a small card or momento for her just like they did for me. Christmas tree ornaments are an easy thing to make that can be taken out once a year and the caregiver can remember when they had that particular child.
