No.
No. But then again, I don't believe them when they tell me a leprechaun stole their toy, either.
Do they truely exist?
Are they the same or are they seperate?
Has anyone seen one of these or both?
I know i could google this, but i would like to hear from someone who actually knows, for sure without a doubt.
If your child told you they saw a ghost, would you believe them?
No.
No.

I am a psychic/medium and work with a Paranormal Research Team.
Ghosts are the spirits of HUMANS or ANIMALS who have died and not crossed over.
A Demon is an evil spirit who was never human or animal.
All 4 of my children have seen ghosts. I only feel them and see them 3rd eye. I do see shadow people. A shadow person is a ghost trying to manifest but can only appear as a shadow.
1. Yes, they exist. They are in the bible.
2. They are separate beings.
3. I've seen ghosts, but not demons.
4. Yes, I'd believe a child if they told me that they saw a ghost.
I do believe that demons and ghosts exist. Demons are the "bad" angels, led by Lucifer, who rebelled against God and were cast out of heaven by St. Michael, the Archangel.
Ghosts are the souls of people who died but whose souls are stuck in purgatory, being cleansed of their earthly sins that weren't bad enough to warrant eternal punishment in hell. If my child said he saw a ghost I would believe him, and encourage him to pray for the soul of that person so the person could get to heaven. (This is Catholic teaching, and I'm Catholic.)
I've never seen a demon or a ghost, myself, but I do know a priest who has assisted at exorcisms and he has witnessed the demonic. If you believe that your child has seen a demon you need some spiritual help immediately.
I don't know if they exist....but it's possible. Just because there isn't *proof* of something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist on this plane of existence or another.
And yes, I would absolutely believe a child who said they saw a ghost. My middle daughter used to see them when she was younger. She would never say "I saw a ghost", but would point at empty space and ask "who's that lady/man?" Gotta admit, it kinda creeped me out. She hasn't done it for a couple of years now, but I have no doubt she saw *someone* that I couldn't.
Once when I was a teenager I woke up and saw my grandpa sitting on the end of my bed - he'd been dead for about 10 years. He just smiled at me and then disappeared. Some people might say I was dreaming - and maybe I was. But I'd never dreamt of something so *boring* LOL And it just *felt* like he was there, you know?
I don't believe that demons are ghosts. Ghosts would be the spirit of a person. Demons would be pure evil and chaos. That's my take anyways.
My MIL explained that she sees ghosts, sometimes gets messages from ghosts, and sometimes gets the sense that someone has a particular saint acting as their guardian angel. Worse yet, she says that these spirits sometimes pester her to get a message through to a third person.
She's then got to find a way to explain to sometimes a random stranger that she's got a message for them from the beyond, without then getting herself thrown in the looney bin.
Do I believe her? I have no reason not to. I think there are a lot of things in this universe which are beyond our understanding.
Glad I am not similarly burdened.
Good luck to you and yours,
F. B.
Yes they exist.
No they're not the same.
Yes I've seen a ghost (and an orb).
Yes, I'd believe him.
:)
@Kristen. W. - you don't know what you're talking about. The leprechauns and their pals the fairies are continually stealing my socks (but only one at a time), my car keys, my mobile phone and my sunglasses.
They sneakily hide things when my husband is looking for them, then put them out again when it's my turn to look.
On a more serious note, I'm on the fence about ghosts, I've had a visitation, but I don't think there are demons hanging around. I think that in years to come, there will be a scientific explanation for ghosts. That is, I think there is still so much humankind does not understand, and that someday everything that we consider supernatural now will be explained scientifically. Probably something to do with the transformation of energy.
No, they do not exist. If your child says s/he saw one, s/he imagined it.
I heard someone explain ghosts in a scientific way that made so much sense to me. The air around us is matter, just like everything else. If you step in mud, you leave a footprint. So if something extreme or traumatic happens, it can leave a "print" in the air. When you see "ghost" of a person who died, you are seeing a footprint of them, but they are long gone.
On the other hand, I believe in demons, but not the Hollywood type. I also believe in angels. I think there is a lot to this world, going on all around us, that we can't see. I believe kids are more likely to see these things because no one has convinced them yet that these things don't exist.
I can't answer definitively if they exist because I have never been one of those people with the 6th sense. Thank goodness. I think it would be very disconcerting to be one of those people who sees/hears things. I have heard enough stories though to have a pretty good personal belief that some people are gifted with this talent to see, hear, or sense things. And that they are out there.
I agree with reverend ruby's description of the difference between ghost and demon. I'm also with Queen of the Castle, being a Catholic myself.
Would I believe my kid if she told me she saw a ghost... Probably not. Partly because that ability doesn't run in my family, and partly because i do not think that would be the way a small child would explain it anyway.
I don't believe in ghosts. I do believe in imagination and mental illness. I think that pretty much covers it.
1. I do not personally believe that ghosts or demons exist, but I could be wrong. I've been wrong about things before.
2. I think ghosts are people who have died and haven't "passed on." I don't fully understand that, but I believe in heaven, hell and purgatory. It doesn't make sense to me that you can't end up in one of those three places.
Demons are "bad angels." Yes, there is a story about Lucifer and the "fall from grace," but it's not in the Bible. Personally, I think demons are just the personification of evil. People blame bad things on them. It's easier to blame a bad spirit than it is to take responsibility for one's actions.
3. I guess not.
4. No, I would not believe a child if he/she told me he/she saw a ghost. However, I would be nice about it. I would simply listen to what they had to say and try to reassure them that everything was ok. If it were something he/she said while sleeping, I would probably talk about how dreams can feel very real and can be scary. If it were daytime I would probably talk about how lights and shadows and the wind can play tricks on us. If he/she was very insistent, I would probably back off, not try to talk them out of it and just let it go. Still wouldn't believe they really saw what they thought they saw. But, again, I could be wrong.
My grandmother's house has a ghost, she calls him Charlie. I've never seen him, but I've heard him slamming doors in an otherwise empty house, and my grandma said sometimes she comes in the kitchen and all the cabinets are open or her oven knobs are in the sink.
They do exist, but they are not necessarily the same.
Never seen one of either, don't want to.... I know people who have seen both, though.

I see dead people... who would know beyond a doubt? if I told you one night after a heavy bout of drinking, I saw a demon. I think you could believe me.
Can kids see ghosts, energy, demons? sure they are pretty innocent and if they did I would believe they saw something. I would try to help them understand it
I don't know how I feel about the idea of Demons, and tend to believe that they are just the name used to talk about pockets of negative energy or vengeful spirits. I do believe in ghosts, I have seen them (was visited by my great grandfather the night he died, before anyone knew he was even dead) and my son had one that hung out with him for the first few years of his life. I once heard her over the baby monitor telling him everything was okay and not to cry. As he learned to talk I would hear him having conversations with her, of course I could only hear his side. I sometimes wonder if it was my grandmother who passed away only a couple of weeks before he came into the world.
If you think you may have a ghost in your home and you want it gone/it is scaring you then I would recommend smudging your home with sage, while inviting good energy in and demanding negative energy out. Most often what people experience as ghosts is really just energy left behind, a snap shot if you will, of that persons existence before their energy went back to the earth. A simple sage smudging should balance out the energies.
there are no such thing as ghosts. I do not believe there is a holding place before you go to heaven or hell. I do believe in demons though. But, they can not come near me because I am a believer in God. Demons are very real and so are angels.
