It took me one try. the first we tried on day 10 or 12 (I can't remember) and the 2nd pregnancy we tried on day 13. Best wishes to you.
My husband and I have decided to have our second child. I had my mirena taken out a few days ago and we are hoping that I get pregnant within the next two months, (my husband is leaving april 27th and will not be back until december) so we would like him to come home to a new baby opposed to him coming home then getting pregnant. For women who planned their second pregnancys how easy was it to become pregnant after your first? We had no trouble getting pregnant this first time, it only took about two months.

Didn't take any time for us, once we started doing it right (ha ha!). Which meant me not running to the restroom afterwards and instead laying with a pillow under my rump for 30 minutes. Best of luck!
Surprisingly to me, it took us more than a year to conceive our second baby! (Our first was a surprise.) I guess not trying at all was better than actively trying, in our case. =)
Best of luck with everything!
The first time, it took me about 5 months to get pregnant. The second time took about 2 weeks from when I stopped taking the pill.
hi A., i don't want to rain on your parade, but i'm not sure if mirena messes with your hormones, but i was on seasonique for 1 yr. and a half. then i got off it to try for baby#2 and we've been trying since the week after thanksgiving and we're still not pregnant. my obgyn said not to worry because your body has to get used to it's normal hormone levels and having a period every month. so, yes it's very frustrating and in your case i can see how you must be feeling, but don't worry i've heard of women getting off the pill and getting pregnant that next month! =) so i guess it depends on the woman...well, good luck with everything and god bless you n your husband!
Everyone is different. Some things are more difficult to plan than others. Like pregnancies. Use a predictor kit. ____@____.com
I charted my cycle including taking my temp and charting every morning before I got up, it worked but took a couple of months to see how it all worked.
I planned a second pregnancy, but it didn't come to fruition before my own hubby took off for six months. I was on the NuvaRing before my first pregnancy, and it took 7 months to get the hormones out of my system (as tracked by period length) and 3 more months to actually get pregnant. I had a Paragard (no hormones) inserted after DDs birth, and took it out Jan '09. Hubby left June 1st, and I wasn't pregnant yet (so I got another one put in and we've stopped trying for now).
So I totally understand the pressure/desire to be pregnant by a certain date, but I hope you realize that sometimes it can be stressful when you put a date on it, thus actually suppressing your ovulations. I would hope that you might both come to an agreement that you really mean, that you would LIKE to be pregnant before he leaves, but that if you have to start over when he gets back, that's okay, too. Fun sex makes babies! ;)
It took us 3 months for the first and 2 mos the second. But I have heard some people get pregnant right away the first time and that it takes forever for the second. Your age plays a part as well as if baby number one is still nursing or not. Really the only thing you can do would be to use an ovulation kit if you can't pinpoint when you are ovulating and if you can tell exactly when you are ovulating, like I can, well then, you know what to do! :) Happy trying!
Don't put yourself under pressure... just let it happen. My husband and I had our 1st as a wonderful accident. Then 6 years later we tried for #2. I was on the pill and off of it. It took months of trying and stressing. Then when I was finally ok with not having another baby.. literally within the next week I was pregnant. So don't stress yourself out about it. It all depends on you and your hubby. Just take it slow and if it happens before then it will! =) Good luck! Take care!

A lot will depend on how quickly your body gets back to a hormonal cycle unaffected by the Mirena. For some women this will only mean a month for others it can take some time. Given the short time frame (maybe two cycles), do your best to determine when you ovulate (you can buy cheap pee-on-a-stick predictor kits at drug stores) and then get busy! Good luck :)
It took me 4 yrs to get pregnant with my first. When I wanted my second, I got the book "taking charge of your fertility" and charted my cycle. Once I saw what the first "charted" cycle did, I got a good idea of when the second month's cycle was at ovulation. We got pregnant immediately (during that second month).. Now this method has you having sex every other day during your ovulation week. - that results in a boy.
I was on the "pill" but it only took 2 months. I had always heard it could take a while if you've been on BC ( i had been on the pill for 7 yrs inbetween my daughter and son). NOT true. it just depends on your body and whether your ovulating or not (usually 12-14 days after period ends). A bigger question is that I am unsure where your hubby is going but are u sure you want to go thru pregnancy w/ him away?
two months after coming off birth control for us trying for a boy and we got him. But every time is different! Using the FAM method would speed up the process. Fertility awareness. "taking charge of your fertility" would be a good book to read.
Everyone is different. It only took us 2 months with our first and 7 months with our second. So it did take longer, but you never know. Think positive and i wish you the best of luck!
Getting pregnant with our second proved far more difficult than the first (who was a surprise). What worked for us was an ovulation kit. I recommend ordering them online as you can get quality kits for less than half the price.
