I am getting my IUD (Mirena) removed next week. For those who have had experience with having an IUD removed, were you able to get pregnant without difficulties?

What can I do next?

My SIL got pregnant with baby #2 the same month she had her mirena removed. That said, everyone is different, it could take a few months for your body to get adjusted. My OB recommends using a non-hormonal method of BC for a couple months before trying to get pregnant after getting off the pill or having an IUD removed.

I got pregnant almost immediately after having mine removed. I have been told by my doctor and midwife that it doesn't affect fertility. Good luck!

I have heard that some woman have difficulties and that there first pregnancy usually ends in a miscarriage unless they had a regular period while they were on Mirena ( which does happen. I didn't have one for the first two year but they other 3 it was really regular but with terrible cramping) Good luck I hear that there is a hormone pill that you can take just in case you are worried about it.

I have HEARD that you usually start to immediately ovulate after getting off of a progesterone form of birth control. (I actually got pregnant because I forgot 1 pill from my progesterone only pills). But, it also depends on your body.
