Getting New Dishwasher - Input Please!

We are remodeling our kitchen and getting a new dishwasher. The salesperson at Lowes told us the Maytag Quiet Series 300 is a good model; however, I have been unable to find anything good about it online. Has anyone heard anything about this dishwasher (good or bad)? Does anyone have a dishwasher they are really pleased with? We don't care about how loud it is but it seems pointless to have a dishwasher if you need to wash the dishes before and/or after sending them through!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

glad to hear that noise level isn't your biggest issue. i just had a r
repair guy out for my microwave and we discussed my dishwasher. as inconvenient as it is, you have to rinse off the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. remember, the food has to go somewhere. if you leave it on the plate it goes down into the floor and food trap and drane pipes. it will back up, smell, and make you very unhappy. i have a ge profile and i love it. quiet. locking option for buttons. prewash setting. not to pricey.
good luck

RE Kitchenaid Model KUDKO3ITBS2 (and apparently ALL/many Kitchenaid dishwashers that model # begins KUD). Research on the Internet AFTER ours failed revealed that though they are extremely expensive, the electronics are POOR!!! Many have had control board and other issues.
It's ridiculous to buy an expensive/high-end STAINLESS STEEL INTERIOR dishwasher so the INTERIOR will last a long time (won't rust, chip, etc.), then find that they are regularly having so many technical issues (with the computer/control board, etc.) that they fail before long.
Also, we've passed the 1-yr. warranty, but have a 5-year warranty on parts, which, according to Kitchenaid means that once their is any failure and they send us ONE part, the "5-yr" warranty is cancelled [HOW is that a "5-yr" warranty.]
Before this, I had thought Kitchenaid, especially with the stainless steel interior, was one of the best. I don't expect to buy ANY of their products in the future due to these deceptive "warranties," poor quality, high price, and poor customer service.

Hi L.,
I have the Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher in stainless steel with stainless steel inside and L. it. It isn't THAT quiet and only problem we have had is a little plastic end cap from one of the racks came off on got stuck inside. We had the repair gut out and he showed my hubby how to take it apart if it happens again. We have had it about 2 yrs. The one thing the Maytag repairman did recommend was to ALWAYS rinse off your dishes, even is it says you don't need to.

I have heard fabulous things about the Bosch line. I have a friend who has one, and they say it works great and is very quiet. I was at their house when it was running, and it was almost completely silent. They may be a bit more pricey, but from what I've heard, well worth it.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get the Fisher & Paykel dish drawers. They look cool, but have been a MAJOR PAIN for us.
Good luck!

We just bought a great kenmore dishwasher from sears. It has a Powerscour function for pots and pans that amazed me. We baked chicken the other night and usually I have to soak the pan for awhile and the scrub like crazy to get it clean. With this dishwasher, it has the jets rotating on the top and bottom(like most) and super power jets from the back. So I just put that pan facing the power jets and it cleaned it!AMAZING! It also has many other settings, its quiet and has a delay. The top rack moves up and down for those larger dishes. THere is a disposer so the plates can go right in(I still seem to rinse the big chunks off, though...force of habit). I truly recommend it.

We just bought a new dishwasher at Sears. It's a Kenmore and it is very quiet. Gives us a lot of choices when we use it but we usually do the Smart Wash and dry. This one has the grinder disposable function in it so you really don't have to clean your dishes before putting them in. We are very pleased with it. We actually went down to look at dishwashers and they were having a sale. I believe this is like a medium-level one... I think with installation and all we ended up paying about $500.

Hi,
You have probably already been given lots of advice but...we bought a Kitchenaid Model KUDKO3ITBS2. LOVE IT! Quiet, Easy to use, easy to load with lots of room for kid sippy cups. We opted for the stainless interior and exterior because it matched our other new appliances but it does show handprints. Easy to clean with a wet papertowel though...just make sure to wash and wipe with soft sponge or towel with the "grain" of the stainless steel.
