I am looking at buying either a treadmill or an elliptical for my home (but can't spend very much) and I have found the Gazelle. Does anyone know if this really works? On the reviews of the product there were mixed feelings.

What can I do next?

I"ve never heard of a Gazelle, but we have an elliptical. We bought ours froma fitness store that offered on year no interest payments. Thats the only wasy we were able to get one in a affordable way. Ours also isn't fancy, it has an electronic screen, but the rest is manual. Its nice!!

I've had 2 gazelles. Both were "better" models over $300. The first I used for maybe a year, worked up a good sweat and did it for an hour at a time. The pads on the back of the foot rests break off easily, and the heart rate monitor thing is cheap and unreliable. Eventually I wore the thing out and it broke. The 2nd one, I've hardly used, its a piece of junk, and I think there's a recall on it. I'd like to use it but its so squeaky and either needs worked on or its junk, because it acts like its going to break. I'm curious about treadmills too, but reviews I've read are also mixed and I don't want to invest in a piece of junk. I still would like to find something to use in the house or during winter at the very least.

Hi T.,
I don't have a Gazelle but do have an elliptical. We didn't buy the cheapest but definatly don't the most expensive. I LOVE it. We bought it last year and my husband and I use it between us 6 times a week. It has held up great. Good luck.

Hi T.
About a year ago I really wanted a treadmill, but couldnt afford it, so I opted for a gazell...about a $100 bucks at Walmart. I have mixed feelings on it. While sure it will do its job of getting your hearbeat up allow you to get some excersize while being at home...but at the same time it is not made well and Im sure if I actually used it alot it wouldnt last long. The other downfall is that I can not use it while my children are awake. I have two young children who could very easily walk in front of behind it and get hurt.
I wish I would of saved my money a couple months and bought the tredmill I actually wanted. I have heard great things about the elliptical though.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
Im 30 and have been happily married for almost 5 years and am lucky enough to be a SAHM to 2 beautiful children under 4.
