i had the typical colicky really painful gassy baby. it was AWFUL early on. as he's gotten older it's gotten a bit better. but i'm still convinced it wakes him up at night. early on, i tried eliminating various things from my diet...caffeine, dairy (for a week, was that long enough?), nothing worked. did the gas drops, etc. i am desperate for sleep and i swear to god that's what wakes him up. he wakes up crying in pain and toots a while later and he can go back to sleep.

anyone else go through this still like my son after being over 8 months. i was thinking he'd grow out of it by now.

What can I do next?

You may have an overactive letdown. If so, your son may get filled up too soon and never get to the hind milk, which can cause colic symptoms. Make sure that you have him completely empty one breast at a time while feeding. Maybe even only offer 1 breast per feeding. Baby massage is a help as well. Parents magazine makes a mommy/baby exercise dvd that's at target with a segment on there geared towards good digestion. Those are the only tips I know. Good luck!

Chiropractics! Plus, dairy takes at least 2 weeks to exit the system.

Try babies magic tea and you'll see a clear difference. I have used this tea with great comfort.

Hi C.
I would give him a warm bath and a tummy massage a hour or so before bed so he can get thet gas out before bed make sure you go clockwise on his stomach or you will bind him up. also try the chiropractor. Good luck :)T.

My son was the same until he turn 5year old. I did everything that people all ready said to you. Which does help. Also I stop formula and milk. Doctor gave me something else for him to drink. But its been so long, son is now 27 years old. My son has a very sensitive stomach to this day, he has to stay away from grease food, spice food etc. So just be careful on what your child eats or drink.
