Does anyone know of an inexpensive, "interesting" garden border? I'm tired of the pesky grass getting into my whimsical/fairy garden -- any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

You could use cheap bending (the thin kind that bends really easy) wood that is for gardens then put recycled glass (which you can get at helena sand & gravel) behind it. That way you make a boarder between your lawn & garden.

Okay, so it isn't really "inexpensive", but it was cheaper than I expected, and you can do it in sections. At Home Depot (possibly Lowes too), they have a 6 inch piece of molded concrete that is colored and shaped to look like cobblestones. You lay them together and it makes a nice border that looks great, and I haven't had anyone realize that they are individual pieces until they really look close. I love them!

Nothing but grass-killing spray will get rid of the grass. I'm fighting centipede grass myself-it's absolutely HORRIBLE! You can disguise it & make a very pretty border by planting creeping phlox (perennial, which is a bonus) all around the edges. Mine have never crept that I've seen, but we've never lived in the same house long enough for them to really take off.

Brick is a great border. You can lay it flat, on its side, on its end or make designs. You can use it with or without mortar. Great colors too!
