Hi fellow moms!

I am shopping for a sofa bed and would like advice on where to go. I am a SAHM and am watching my budget, so I want to avoid the high-end stores. Where can I go to get a balance of quality and lower expense? Foley's is about to have a sale this week and there sofas appear to be deeply discounted.

Also, is microfiber a good fabric for a home with young children? What's a good fabric that can withstand family life?

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

My advice is to also look at the Furniture shops on the interent that are in the North Carolina area. You have to know what you want, ( make, manafacture, model #, etc). But, if you want assistance and great customer serivce - that's my suggestion.

They will ship it from NC, the fees depend on weight, my generally run around 150.00 and up. But, the prices are deep discount! Example -- I just recently purchased a bedroom suit -- priced it all around town, no one I repeat no one could match the deals I got from the places in NC and that was after you included the insurance and shipping to my door. Delivery time was the same as any place in town -- 4-6 weeks. A place I have ordered from the past is www.20mileoffurniture.com they have a large list of companies to work with.

Again -- they are very very helpful -- and could probably answer any questions you had reagrding fabric durability, and best suggestions for a family with kids.

Good Luck,
C.

Hi Jennifer,

We bought both of our sofas at Dillards. They have a VIP club (Diilards credit card) you can join and as long as you spend at least $200 you can pay "non-interest" payments for a year. And if you pay it off by the end of that time period, you pay absoutely no interest. For example, we bought a microfiber sofabed (queen sized) for $750 and paid like $70 a month for a year. And, yes, microfiber is the way to go with kids. It just wipes clean with a damp towel. I've cleaned spit up countless times and you'd never know it.

Good Luck with your purchase.

Hi Jennifer! I was told when we bought our couch that the microfiber would be ok for stains but my concern was snagging (we have a cat and dog). I didn't trust the newer material to be stain resistant, we used to have an older version and unfortunately it showed a lot of stuff, like even if you rested a drink glass that was sweating on it. I have been happy with Roomstore and Rooms to Go for reasonably priced furniture personally. Foley's does have good sales I just don't know one you can see the furniture, I thought you had to order it. Good Luck, hope this helps! Angela
P.S. Oh and of course you can always ask them in the store for a demonstration of the material.

Have you looked at the stuff in Rooms to Go? I would also suggest Room Store but I had a bad experience with them and so I usually don't reccomend. Micro Fiber is an excellent fabric for a home with kids- even pets. My parents family room set is micro fiber and it they LOVE it. We have a brushed twill/cotton couch and after 4 years of baby wear it looks horrible! Good luck!
