John Freeda frizz-ease products are good. My Mom uses that. I've tried it. I sometimes use Loreal Restorative after the shower as a leave on conditioner. Also Loreal Viv pro, glossy style smooth gloss, anti-frizz cream works all day too.
Hi ladies,
I have very frizzy hair due to the humidity. Any suggestions on some good shampoos that will help?

K.,
I have battled this for decades. I have used the Morrocan oil and it did not help me and it is very expensive. I recently started using Ouidad products. There is a shop near me that sells it, but you can probably find it online.
good luck!

ps, it also saves time. I tried the detailed instructions but found I didn't need to follow all those steps (you might have to) I just put a small amount on my hair after towel drying while leaning over. so it also makes the bottle, which is a little expensive, last a very long time.
I have curly hair that often frizzes. There is something called Moroccan Oil (little brown bottle). Only takes a tiny bit, but really helps. My mom brought me a bottle from her salon in Boston. Around here, Ulta sells a similar product. If you ask for the Moroccan Oil, they should know what you are talking about.
When you say frizzy hair, do you mean...thin blond hair, medium brown hair, thick black hair...that makes a difference.
I have light brown hair w/highlights...I use Bio Oil...my DD has curly dark hair...she uses something else all together.....what cha got?
I feel your pain! I was using "moroccan oil" and it helped, but I did have to wash my hair more frequently. I also have a spray I put in my hair, but it leaves it pretty stiff and so I only use it when it is really really humid.
Those of us with extremely curly hair know that shampoo and conditioner makes almost no difference on how your hair will behave after it is dried. It's all about the product you use after you get out of the shower.
I've tried hundreds of products and have found a couple that do really well -- unless it's over 90-degrees and humid. (Nothing helps my hair from frizzing at that point.) If you want to try a new product, start with Frizz-Ease (distribute throughout your hair from roots to tips when you hair is towel-dried). If this doesn't work, I would consult with your hair dresser for a specialty product offered by the salon. These tend to be much "stronger" than anything you can buy at the store (Walmart, Target, etc.) And then, if at all possible, don't use a hair dryer and do not use a brush. Let your hair air dry and "style" by using your fingers only.
I use a conditioner in my hair after showering to help with the frizzies, I use about a quarter sized amount of actually Suave the Nexxus Humectrant conditioner and that helps I also sometimes have to use otion, yes lotion to tame it down when it is drying or dried! Hope this helps!
I have super-super frizzy hair. even without humidity. lol. One thing I do (on the days I to something more than throw it into a braid) is before I get in the shower, I fill a bowl with ice water (not just cold... actually put ice in it). when you get out of the shower use a washcloth dipped in the water and starting at the tips of your hair "scrunch" up to your roots. The ice water sets the curl. (I guess this only really works if you are a curly frizz, like me. lol) I also use curl-care mousse...
What type of hair do you have (straight, wavy, curly -and if curly how strong is the curl pattern-... fine, thin, thick, coarse... caucasian... indian... middle eastern... african/carribean... biracial)?
If you have any kind of curly hair, shampoo won't help at all, but "product" will. What kind of product depends on what kind of curl.
I have also had frizzy hair for years, humidity or not. When I traveled to Florida I asked my stylist for advice because I knew it would be extremely humid there at the time of year we were visiting. In addition to using shampoo & conditioner in the shower, she had me use the Moroccan Oil lotion. Then a spray gel from Redken called Be Curly as I have naturally curly hair. Then I blew dry on low while scrunching. When my hair was almost dry she told me to put a pomade on it. Then follow up with hairspray. That combination has worked better than anything else I've tried (and believe me, I think I've tried everything over the years!) but still did not keep the frizz completely away. My stylist has actually told me that there probably isn't anything I can do to make it go away totally. And, I'm not sure how you feel about stiff, sticky hair but that combination made my hair feel absolutely disgusting. It was hard to even wash it all out every night. I only did that mix while we were in Florida because I just didn't like the feel of my hair. I guess you may have to decide how much of the frizz you want to eliminate vs. how much product you can stand to have in your hair. Using a clarifying shampoo at night did get it all out but took awhile each night. Good Luck to you! Believe me, I feel your pain - frizzy hair is very hard to control!
Hi, the only thing that helped me was the Frederic Fekkai products (I used the colored treated shampoo and conditioner) it is pricey though but there was definitely a noticeable improvement. Good luck!
I use Redken Soft shampoo and conditioner and I also put a little (2 squirts) of Friedas Frizz Ease Serum in my hair before I dry it. I have shoulder length hair. It has helped. Good luck.

I agree...it's more about the product than about the shampoo. In fact, if you have very frizzy hair, you may only want to shampoo once a week, and just use conditioner every day. I have thick curly hair, and the natural oils that build up are actually healthier for your hair and help weigh it down a bit. This works if you don't have oily hair.
I use a leave-in conditioner, and then a strong texturizer or gel. I think a leave-in is key for fighting frizz. Graham Web makes great products (Ulta), as does Bed Head. Also, the Ouidad products are good and you can find them at Sephora. I don't love the Morrocan Oil because it makes my hair too smooth and doesn't hold the curl, but not sure if you have a curl or not!
Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be!
I too have curly hair and was recently looking for an AFFORDABLE option for hair care :) It is not a shampoo, but I found One N' Only brand Argan oil, which is derived from Moroccan Argan trees. Much cheaper than the Moroccan oil brand, and it is a leave-in conditioning oil. It was $9-$10 for a 3.4 fl oz bottle, which sounds small, but you really only need a little bit at a time.
Also, I was a strict wash my hair everyday kinda girl, eventhough hairdressers often do not recommend it for curly hair because you strip the natural protective oils in the hair :D But with this, I have actually went a couple of days without washing, which was completely foreign to me, but I wanted to test the effectiveness of the stuff on my hair. It passed with flying colors!!! No frizzies and poof-ball hairdo :D Also to funky crunchy or dry residue, it feels really soft and springy and smells wonderful.
Here is the site listing I found when I was researching, I bought it at a local Sally Beauty Supply:

The site also lists shampoos and other conditioners, which I have not tried yet, but hopefully you find something that works for you :)
