Hi...I also suggest Earth"s Best Organic formula for the same reasons I've seen in others' responses. It isn't sweetened with cane juice as Similac is, and it doesn't have any GMOs which Similac doesn't say. Hope you all have a great visit!
A friend of mine is visiting for an extended time from England with her 8 month old son. The formula she uses there isn't available here. She uses an organic milk-based formula. Any suggestions on your favorite formula? I have no experience, having breastfed.
Great suggestion about blending bit by bit rather than using up her supply and then switching! It sounds like there are really only 2 options, which makes it less confusing. And to the mom who recommended weaning off the bottle at 8 months - I hope she realizes that babies need breastmilk or formula for the first year as babies can't digest enough solids to sustain themselves.

We used Earth's Best Organic formula to supplement. It's a milk based organic formula. I hope that helps!
I just started giving my 10 month old son formula b/c I wasn't pumping enough at work. He would not drink Earth's Best..it smells a bit funny and I've since heard that it is not well balanced. He is now drinking Similac Organic mixed with breastmilk and seems happy. You probably can buy it anywhere but I bought it at Neergard on 5th Ave. Good luck. S.
I was just in Walmart yesterday and I noticed they had Parent's Choice organic milk based formula. Due to our income I use Parent's choice with my youngest daughter and she's had no problems with it.
I'm not sure of any formula's here that are similar..though is your friend able to ship some of her formula to you so that she has it with her for the baby? I know this may be expensive to do - but wouldn't she want to do what is best for her child?
Earth's Best would probably work. Don't use Similac Organic- NY Times did an article on it and found that it's overly sweetened.
Try ordering her formula on line and having it shipped to your house! OR have her ship a few cans here before she leaves!
Earth's Best makes an Organic milk based & Soy based formula.

You can get them in Babies r us, or order on line at a zillion different places!
I got my sons off the bottle at 8 months old. Try getting a few training cup(s) and encourage your friend to wean her son off the bottle.

I'm 60 years old, been married to the same man for 38 years and have two grown sons.
Earth's Best and Similac both have organic milk formulas
Whatever she finds recommend to her that she mix it with bottled water if it is powder. My son had bloody stools from mixing his formula with water in the Netherlands. I agree she should have it shipped.
"Earth's Best" has a organic milk-based formula that you can find in whole food stores. It also has baby food and cereals that are organic. Good luck!
Do you have a Whole Foods or other natural/health food store near you? She can find organic formula there. Earth's Best makes one that you may be able to find in the regular grocery store.
Similac actually makes a Organic milk based formula. Maybe suggest her coming here with her formula so that she can wean the baby from one to the other. Start off by mixing 7 oz oc the "England" formula to 1 oz of the "US" formula and then increase the US and increase the England until the baby is on all US formula.
If it is not completely impractical, she should bring as much as she can with her. The baby will notice the change in taste (organic or not) and it could be a challenging visit for all of you! Even if she can not bring enough for the entire stay she should at least bring enough to start mixing it in with whatever you get here, so as to gradually change the taste...
Good luck!
I know similac makes an organic formula I see it all the time when I buy my sons formula. Walmart is always stocked up on it. The label is green and it comes in powder or a ready to feed big bottle! Hope this helps
Have your friend send you a label from her formula and then take it to a store that sells organic formula. You may be able to match them. Also a health food store may be a help if you know what (and what amounts) are in the formula she uses. I have never used formula but I have found that with many products there is always one that comes close or almost identical in content. A.
Hi, Similac makes an organic formula which I use for my baby.
Have you check with an organic health food store or can she bring it with her?
Nature's Best and Similac both make an organic based formula. The similac is made with cane sugar, Nature's best with Lactose, so you can ask her which she prefers.
HI L.,
If there is a health food store in your area you can get organic milk based formula from there. Have her try Earth's Best Organic formula. You can get it at Whole Foods Market
Hope this helps!

I use Isomil which is soymilk on my son
I would check with a pediatrician who will be able to give her child care, "just in case".
I used Enfamil Lipil w/Iron for my kids (after nursing) and all 3 did great on it.
