So after almost one year of having baby Anna a family member has come forward and it looks like she may be going to live with them. Needless to say this is not the outcome I was hoping for, and yes I am heartbroken!! BUT I know she will have a wonderful life, and am so grateful for the joy she has brought to my family and I for this past year. I know we have all provided a safe, and loving home for her, and she will forever be in my heart, so no regrets. I don't think I could have loved a baby more if my own blood was running though her veins. This foster system SUCKS!!! I fought, and fought hard, and didn't necessarily win, but I didn't loose either, she will be safe and okay, and I am at peace with that. This will be a process, before she goes, she will have meetings with her new family so they can get to know her and she can get to know them. It is going to take a few months. They assured us they will make this as easy on her as they can. It's kind of like ripping a band-aid off slowly. Please pray for Anna!!

Prayers for all of you. Your post made me tear up. It takes a special kind of family to take in someone and love them as their own. Your Anna isn't the only blessed person. Thank you for sharing your story and happy holidays!

I agree.. The system does suck.. as a former foster kid, I can tell you first hand that some of the decisions that are made are not always in the best interest of the child. I sure hope that the family member who came forward has good intentions......... even some biological family only wants a kid for the money.. I pray they will really love Anna..

I am glad Anna was able to experience a nice family such as yours...
I know it's hard on you to let go.. :( I feel sad even reading your post..

I 'll pray for you and Anna... and hope for the best..

Blessings

Oh D., you and your family are amazing! I amswered a post earlier about taking in my newborn niece at ten days old and before custody was complete her bioparents would torment us and demand her back. It was almost always just overnight but was the most devastating feeling in my life thus far. Just writing about it brings back those feelings from 19 years ago.

I wish you the very best. Your attitude is amazing, I don't know how you are making it through this time.

I know it's like a death losing her and yet so wonderful you could share you love with her this long. It breaks my heart just reading this and feeling your pain. You will always love her and she is blessed to have had your love for this long.
