Since my daughter has been changed to a forward-facing car seat, it is very hard for me to see her while I am driving. I can't use the rearview mirror like I used to when she was reversed. I found a small mirror that attaches to the windshield but it is too small for me to see her facial features. Help moms! Does anyone know a good mirror that I can either attach to my rearview mirror or my windshield and be able to see my daughter's face???

What can I do next?

I'm just interested as to why you would need to see her face? Put on some music and enjoy! She is busy looking around at trucks, bikes, people, dogs, etc. Leave her be.

Why do you need to see her while you're driving? Wouldn't it be safer to keep your eyes on the road? If she needs you so badly that you must have a clear and unobstructed view of her, I would think pulling over and parking the car so you can turn around would be the safest thing. I guess I just dont' get why you need to see her face while you're driving.

I have this, and it works well for me. It fits over the side of your rearview mirror (attaches firmly in the back), and basically extends the mirror so you can see the carseat. You can tilt the mirror until it's angled properly for your liking. I have it on the left side of my mirror, and then it's angled so I can see him in the carseat.

Your eyes should be on the road while driving or else you won't be able to see her at all.
If you want to see her, understandable as she's your precious daughter, turn around at a red light. Otherwise, keep your eyes on the road.

We sit our son facing forward in the middle of the back seat of our car. I can use the mirror from the shade/visor when I pull it down when I am driving. Do you have a mirror attached to your shade/visor?

You can do some research to see if they sell mirrors that you can attach to your rear view mirror so you can see your daughter.

Can you put your daughter in the middle seat? That's where my son sits and I can easily see him from the car's regular rearview mirror. Otherwise, put her behind the passenger seat and you can occasionally give a very quick glance over your shoulder, much as you would if you were changing lanes.

I just sit up straighter so that I can see her in the rearview mirror. She is in the middle of the middle van seat.

If she's only a year old, move her BACK rear facing! The AAP, NHTSA, safekids, even car seat manufacturers recommend children remain rear facing until they outgrow the rear facing weight limits of their convertible car seat, which is typically 35lbs in weight, and less than 1" of hard shell above the childs head.

PLEASE PLEASE google EXTENDED REAR FACING and JOELS JOURNEY for more information on why your child is 500% safer rear facing until the rear facing weight limits of the convertible car seat!

Also, never use anything that can become a projectile, like a mirror. If it doesn't firmly attach to the vehicle, like with velcro or firm snaps, don't use it. A crash is force enough to throw laced up work boots of a grown mans foot, it can turn small things like a mirror into a deadly projectile.

Please google extended rear facing and joels journey. You will be glad you did..

Hi! I can't view the other answers and I know you have already figured something out, but having to strap your child into the middle seat in your car just sounds difficult so i just wanted to make sure you knew about this product
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3502241
You can grab it online or in store at babies r us - reviews are subjective, but i love mine - i had the same problem and this fixed right away - all i needed was to see that she was comfortable, awake or asleep - and this product serves me well :o)
just an FYI if you find having to climb into the car to strap in the baby gets old...

If she is forward facing, you can adjust your rearview mirror...especially if you have her where recommended (the middle) or second best (behind driver seat).

You can just move your rear view mirror when you need to look at her and then move it back. No need to buy fancy mirrors or turn around to look. If she is in the middle (where it is the safest even if you have to sit in the car to put her in her seat) it will be a whole lot easier to see her than the sides. But you should still be able to see her this way with the mirror and on the sides.

Simple solution: buy a mirror in the baby section at the store, that attaches to the rearview MIRROR, we have one and can see our toddler's face. Good luck!

Sorry I don't have any advice, but I do have the same problem! I don't understand why they make those mirrors so small and on top of it, they have that "object appears smaller" than it actually is look. WHY? It doesn't make sense to me. I also don't have the seat in the middle, and some of the posts suggested that. I think I will try that and see if I can use the regular rear-view mirror. Thanks for posting that question, so I could vent! Lol... Good luck to you :)

Can you move the seat to the back passanger seat or the middle? That way when you look into the rearview naturally, you will see her.
