Okay, so I don't need anyone lecturing about nursing, I did it strictly for 8 months, even hired a lactation consultant and spent time with LLL problems arose and I have enough heartache so just responses about the topic please!

Would you buy formula off of Craigslist or Ebay?
I just want opinions, no berating.
What concerns or problems could there be? I know they could be stolen, how can you tell?Could the formula be tainted or altered?
Would like to know your thoughts. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, so far...I cannot do the milk share because of the allergies he has, can you request what the mother eats? Anyway, my husband doesn't think buying formula from someone who has an oversupply is a big deal but how do you really know. They are totally sealed though and a lot of people buy it, for the formula we need it saves about $8 a can which is a lot of money but my gut says just not worth it.

If you even have to ask those questions, what do you think? What you put into your child's body (particularly an infant!) is not an area where risks should be taken. This is definitely NOT a place where I would cut corners in terms of spending.

If you have to ask, you have your answer. Have you considered milkshare? I don't know why you stopped nursing but there are other options other than formula out there.

I personally would never buy from craigslist or ebay, my kids lives are worth far more than the few bucks it would save? Have you concidered milkshare or a milk bank? It's much cheaper that formula and your baby can stay on breastmilk!

Hi J. - I used Craigslist to trade coupons/ diapers in order to get formula coupons, but I shied away from actually buying formula. Like the other posters said, it was worth the few extra bucks for the peace of mind that came with buying the formula at retail.

I had a box of Pampers my son had outgrown and I wound up trading them for $40 of Enfamil coupons. Win-win if you ask me!
