Formal Hairstyle for Short Hair (Angled Bob)

I just cut my hair last week and LOVE it, but now I'm a little bit stressed because I have a black tie wedding to attend in 3 weeks and I don't know what to do for a hairstyle. Due to time constraints I won't be able to go to a salon to get it done, so I'm on my own and am NOT very good with hair.

Any ideas? Websites? Pictures?

What can I do next?

I had an angled bob for years. That cut is so classic, it can be both casual & formal. There isn't much else to do with it, but because it is so classic, it looks amazing whether you're all dressed up or in sweats.

Add a little sheen to it with some shine. A few times I pinned back one side w/ a fancy bobby pin. Otherwise I just left it & instead "dressed up" my appearance with jewelry.

Have fun @ the wedding!!

I agree, this cut is a very classic style and not much needs to be done to it to make it look great! How about picking out some fabulous earrings to go with your new do? That should compliment your style very well!

Have fun!

If you look at my profile the picture is from my sister's wedding. I pulled the front part back with diamond barrette, gave it a little puff on top and let it go at that. The jewelry I wore matched my barrette.

You could do the same thing. It's quick and easy and it looks great!

I would just make sure it's sleek and shiny and maybe use a diamond clip to pull a piece back.

A little girl in my granddaughters dance class got her hair cut super short right before recital. The entire class had long hair and the costumes were planned around certain hair styles. I made fruit hats to fit on a bun on top of their heads. Her hair was way too short to put up, the back of her hair was about 1/2 to 1 inch long all the way up to the crown.

Her mom went to Sally's or Beauty Co. and bought a pony tail hairpiece. She made it into a bun, it was wonderful! She used gel to slick the hair off the face and combed it towards the crown of her head. She used a lot of bobby pins to secure the hair and then attached the pony tail hair piece to that area to cover the bobby pins. It looked like a professionally done hair style.

I would say that you could get one of those hair pieces that just clip in and then do all kinds of different styles by using some sort of pinning anchor style thing.

If you google updo's for short hair you should be able to see something that will inspire your creativity.
