I was nervous about the self-feeding stage but my 9 month old is so thrilled to be eating banana bread, plain pancakes (I make whole wheat), banana, avocado, sweet or plain potato, french toast (just yolks), grated soft apples (McIntosh), pasta & grated cheese...I am constantly surprised what he can handle- even cottage cheese! Now that he's 1 you could scramble whole eggs. I buy peeled butternut sqush and chop it, put in a baking dish & cover it with peeled chopped apples, dot with a little butter, a little brown sugar & cinnamon, cover & bake - we all eat it.
