When my daughter had baby achne and now when she has an eczema break out on her face I use Cortaid or any hydrocortizone cream. It works wonders. I would apply it 2x a day. Good luck!
Hi All. You came up with great ideas to help my son's drooling rash. We do have an appt with a pediatric dermatologist, but in 2 weeks!!!! So...As I have tried Aquaphor and Vaseline, and it does not work, has anyone tried using Densitin or Weleda Diaper cream on the face??? Do they make the toddler's sensitive skin more sensitive to the sun???
Thank you as usual for your good advice.

I would not use diaper cream anywhere near baby's face. Ask your pedi what else they can suggest, until then, I would just keep using the Aquaphor. At least that will keep it dry until you get to the derm!! Good luck!
Call the doctor and ask to talk to a nurse. 2 weeks is too long and they should advise over the phone........at your pediatricians office.
I always used A&D ointment, because this is for burns, rashes, cuts, scrapes, etc. my son had a type of exema? on his face during winter that was pretty bad, and this is the only thing that helped.
Keep his face as clean and dry as possible and when you see that he drools the least, apply hydocotizone and aquaphor. I found that doing this when my toddler was sleeping was the best since otherwise he would wipe it off o pick at it. I tried the diaper rash creams...A&D was neutral and Desitin make it worse!
try tro use apply a little cornstarch in that area it will look like baby powder and it will dissapear thats what i use for baby rash, baby acne.
try it it will dessapear in 2 days
I would strongly advise not to use anything like Desitin or hydrocortisone near a toddler's mouth.
Our daughter developed eczema when she was a little less than 12 months. We were advised Aquaphor initially, but the Dermatologist had other recommendations once we actually got there.
One of them was to wash with Head and Shoulder's on the sensitive areas when in the bath being very careful around the mouth (I would highly recommend verifying with your pediatrician/pharmacist first). She also had us start using Vanicream (OTC lotion - you may need to ask the pharmacy to order it in).
In the two weeks before the appointment, I'd ask for recommendations from the dermatologist's nurse to help provide a protective barrier and not worsen the problem, and I'd also ask a pharmacist the next time you're at a store with a pharmacy to see what is safe and what's not.
Good luck.
NO NO NO use A&D ointment for any knid of rash... especially on the face. apply a few times or evry time you think about it. it works rly rly good.
My son had horrible rashes on his cheeks and the only thing that helped was desitin (original, with the highest percentage of zinc). We still use it every night as a preventative, with the doctor's approval, and he never has these awful flare-ups anymore.
Your baby needs to start eating and drinking a more alkaline diet instead of an acidity one.
