My daughter had a severe asthma attack and pnemonia and was in the hospital for 4 days if I remember right. It took her almost 10 days before she felt good enough to eat to where she used to be. Remember, the pnemonia medication will make them not really hungry.

It may take him a bit to have any kind of appetite. Push as many fluids as possible -including Pedialyte. He's so little, he may only want fluids for awhile. I had a terrible case of the flu and pneumonia about 15 years ago at age 26, and even after I was "over it" -it took quite some time for me to feel normal, have my regular appetite, breathe easily, etc. Never hesitate to call the pediatrician and ask either!

My pediatrician told me once, "I've never lost a baby to starvation, just make sure she is drinking plenty of fluids." After being so sick, I would imagine that it will be a few days before he really feels like eating much. Maybe try Pedialyte.

It could take almost two weeks to really feel like eating again. Push the fluids as much as you can.
