the Gulf side is better, less water debris usually, too, but that depends i suppose. Sanibel Island area is good for shells.
Hi im wanting to go on vacation to the beach, ive noticed that the part of florida where daytona is, is pretty windy, so want to avoid that, has anyone been to hutchinson island, fl? If so please tell me is it windy too like daytona and cocoa beach?

Definitely consider the Gulf side, esp. Destin. White fluffy sand and blue water. You will never find that anywhere else.
I've never been to Hutchinson Island ... But, wanted to tell you it's not "always" windy at Daytona and Cocoa... Just depends on the weather.
Hutchinson Island is the shark capital of the world! (certain parts)
We were at Cocoa Beach last summer and I didn't think it was that windy. It was hotter than you know what, but we went in the early part of June. I would go back again :-)
Enjoy your vacation!
I have friends that LOVE Sanibel Island. They go for 2 weeks every year.
We went to Hutchinson Island a few years ago. I don't know anything about wind, but there is a huge drop-off from the beach into the ocean. I had to climb out!! I agree with others that the gulf side is better. Hutchinson isn't really much of a beach community either.
Anywhere near any beach will be windy. Hutchinson Island is nice. When I've gone its mostly an "older" crowd there.
Never been to Hutchinson Island. But we go to Destin every year and we got married there. The beaches there stole my heart!
