While the following article was written for Florida, it has some very valid points; such as the life cycle of fleas -- learning this helps in the elimination, treating all areas -- animals, home, & yard, and products to use and when.

You can buy a bomb for them at Walmart or grocery store. I saw some last night at Alberstons. I would also try shampooing the carpet afterwards. :O)

You will definitely need a flea bomb for the house. I have tried them all in the past, and Hot Shot is for sure the one that you want. Then use Frontline or Advantage on the doggies. Good luck!

My mother has spent a few hundred dollars on Advantiks and flea bombs as well os the other things from the vet and Walmart. A friend recomended salt. Yep. Salt. It worked. For somereason it kills the eggs, which can lay dorment until awakened by the presence of a hot body, cat dog or child. After bombing her home and staying with me for a few days she would relentlessly return to have fleas everywhere the next day. With the salt she just sprinkled regular table salt on the carpets and furniture and even in the closets and shoes. The good thing was that there was no worry about my 2 year old being able to play with the toys. She let it sit for a few days and vacuumed and she still 'salts the house' once a week for good measure. Good Luck!

Get a flea bomb. It's the only way I've ever had success. Check the square footage each one covers, put them in the house in the morning and go to grandmas. Come back after they've finished, open all your windows, turn on all your ceiling fans, and go back to grandmas while the house airs out...

Check the different brands, because they're should be "odor-free" or something.

For full coverage, treat the dog and the yard too.

N.,

I have two Boxers and when we lived in San Antonio, they had a terrible case of fleas. They got into our carpet and we had to call an exterminator to get rid of the problem. They had to come out twice within a few weeks to get rid of the fleas and their eggs. Make sure they spray the inside of your house as well as your yard. At the time, my son was a newborn and when the exterminator came to treat the house, my son and I would sit in the car while my husband watched the guy and we would leave the house for at least two hours, keep the windows open. We finally got rid of the problem so there is hope! Good luck.

My Dad had a severe problem with fleas in his house when I was growing up.
They literally seemed impossible to get rid of.
My Mom kept telling him to get the Advantage flea medicine for his animals instead of wasting all his money on products that didn't work.
Well, after about a year of fighting fleas he finally listened to her and once he put it on his animals the fleas stopped!!
You do have to still treat the home after using the meds, try using the Hot Shot foggers all over your house but using the Advantage on your animals will definitely keep them from coming back.
The best place to buy the meds is at Petmobile in Garland off of I-30 & Broadway. They allow you to only purchase 1 at a time, unlike some other vets that only sell it in quantities of 3 or more.
Petmobile also offers flea killers for your home.
They're site is http://petmobile.com

Try frontline or Advantix on your pets. Once you get rid of the fleas on them they will go away from your house. Advantix kills the fleas and the larvae on the pets and in return your home as well.
