Flat Iron

I am in need of a GOOD flat iron. I bought a Wigo not long ago but it doesn't work very well and my hair never stays straight for long. I want to buy a really good one this time. Any recommendations? I know the good ones are pricey but it's worth it if my hair will get straight and stay that way.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the great information on flat irons. I decided to go with the Sedu Straightener 1". I also bought the Sedu Revolution TGR 4000i Hair Dryer. They just arrived about an hour ago. I wet my hair just so I could test them out real quick and I am IN LOVE. The hair dryer is small but has so much power and it's pretty quiet. It took me 10 minutes to straighten my entire head of hair. I was amazed! I can't wait to play with it more when I have more time. Thanks again!!

I just bought a Sedu from Folica.com and it is absolutly wonderful!! I can't say enough about it. Read the reviews and you will see it is rated very high. It takes me about 20 minutes to do my hair. It is great.

i would recommend going to sally's beauty supply & getting one...i love pretty much all of their brands. i prefer the gold plated ones because i think that they get hotter without scorching.

I almost made the mistake of getting a CHI when I finally decided to spend some money but read a lot of reviews where almost 100% were negative. I purchased a Sedu, and it is the best straighter that is out there IMHO. I am a youth leader, and my girls fight to use my straighter on retreats because of how great it is. Most people haven't heard of it, and it cost the same or less than a CHI (depending on where you purchase), plus it's wider and allows you to do more at once, and it gets hotter than any other straighter out there (but be careful with that). My hair is thick and coarse, so I can have it turned all the way up, but thin and fine hair would have to have lower heat. Good luck to you, and after a lot of research, I can tell you that www.folica.com has the cheapest ones that you'll find. Just type in the search box "Sedu" and you'll find it. I think there's usually free shipping too!

I am a stylist and am happy with my chi.

However, no matter how good your flat iron is, it will be worthless if you don't have an excellent heat protectant sealer spray.

I recommend Paul Mitchell's Heat Seal or Seal and Shine. There are other good ones as well, these are just my favorite.

Without a spray, you will need to repeatedly iron hair sections, it will cause much more damage, and the style won't last all day.
