I know that it is gross; trust me I'm living it. Nothing helps and ever since I had my little girl it has gotten worse. Does anyone have anything that will stop my scalp from flaking?

What can I do next?

Try Nioxin cleanser and scalp therapy. It is a haircare line specializing in hair loss but one of the things it does is clean dead skin off the scalp (theory is to make room for new hair growth). Fine to use just for the scalp cleansing. Plus much gentler than popular dandruff remedies. Available at Cin Rix, some salons and web sites. Good luck!

More than likely your skin is drying out because of having a baby. I know mine is. Yours just happened to go to the skin on your head. And it being winter makes it worse. Try selson Blue for awhile that should work. Then make sure to put on conditioner on your hair and leave it on for a bit. Also did you change any hair products since having your baby? Hope this helps. Make sure what ever shampoo you choose get the one for Dry Scalp. Head and Shoulders make a good one. I used that once when my scalp dried out.

Hi H.,
This might seem contradictory, but you actually might want to consider washing your hair less often. Shampooing dries out your scalp and washes away the natural oils, thus causing dryness and flakes.
Hope that helps.
