Just a quick question.. What have all you mom's out there done to get rid of the stomach flab. I had a c-section and my baby girl is 5 weeks old. I have lost all my baby weight but not sure how to get rid of the flab. Any advice would be great. Thanks

What can I do next?

Hi K., like the others have said, its only been 5 weeks. Way to early to worry. She is also your second baby, which takes twice as long to get back to your old self. If you go for number 3, add time to that also. I ended up the same size after all three of my kids, the third one took me 6 months. Now I'm older,46, and the pouch is here and going nowhere. I worked my fanny aka belly off for years and now, its back, thank you middle ages, its called that for a reason other than age. Try not to let it get to you, I know its hard, I 'loved' my abs and belly, especially for being a mom of 3 big babies. Take it easy, enjoy your daughters, they grow up way to fast and in time, not to much either, your body will be back. I know some people don't get their body back, but you will, because you sound like you really want it back, like I did.I still do 100 situps every morning before getting out of bed to start my day, I have to do them on the bed because when I had my daughter, they broke my tailbone and so I can't do things on a hard surface. Congrats and good luck:)Sue

You haven't even finnished healing from the inside! You'll need time for the biggest factor. You are most likley still slightly swollen even if you don't feel that way... and that can last a couple more weeks.

It took you 9 months to stretch and it takes about that time for your body to get back to "normal". Start on a exercise after you get permission from your 6 week check up and that will help it slim down faster.

Please DONT over-do things.

Congrats on your new sweet baby girl!!

Hi K.~
My actual 'baby weight' came off fast, too, but the c-sec left my tummy a nightmare! Certainly, it's going to take more than 5 weeks. Your doc will tell you not to even think about it yet. Your skin's natural elasticity hasn't even had a chance to take over from being stretched during pregnancy. Once your incision is healed (not yet) completely, you can start with vit E oil to the scar to help combat the puckering that sometimes happens. You might not get your tummy back exactly, but now you have those girls to take your mind off of it! Enjoy your baby and don't worry, you'll get there!

I don't have any suggestions I just want you to know that you are not alone. My 2nd child is 1 and I lost all my baby weight fast and I am back in my old size before kids, but I can't seem to get rid of the flab either I just want to tighten up. I hope you get some good ideas from other moms because I could use some advice also!

Your baby is only 5wks old. Your skin is still reeling it in. And it's likely that you will ALWAYS have the extrea flab...thank your c-section for that. Many Many women end up with a permanent pouch right above their scar because Dr.'s push the fat up out of the way and then never pull it back down when closing you up.

Hi-

Well my son turns 1 this weekend and I still have it. I call it my kangaroo pouch. I know it can be gotten rid of in some cases. Look at those celebrities that can afford personal trainers. They can get rid of it somehow.

Tummy tuck?
It really depends on how much your skin stretched. My stretch marks look like a road map...for a city, not rural!! I will never get rid of that. But, my sister in law did not get one stretchmark, and got right back to her old self in about 12 weeks. Take your time and rest. You are only 5 weeks PP.

First off, you are so lucky to have lost your weight in just 5 weeks! I am due for my second c-section in just a few weeks. But I totally understand where you are coming from with the extra skin. I lost all my weight after my first son (took about 9 months) and then continued to lose more after he turned a year old. Even though I was wearing size 4, I still had this extra skin, I was thin but my stomach had no muscle tone. I don't know if it was extra skin or just the fact that my muscles needed major work. I am sure that I will lose the weight after this baby as well, but am assuming my stomach will have a bit more give to it since it is my second. I have been reading articles about how you need to do certain stomach exercises (with doctors ok of course) to re-attach them since the surgery separates them. Once they are re-attached then you can work on building stronger muscles and more tone. I think I will look into that more and see what happens after this one. But if you have found any solutions since you posted your question...please let me know!!!
