I tried Yaz for 6 months, and all that I have to say is that it's horrible. It gave me intense blinding migraines, and when while it says it's supposed to help with PMDD, it made mine worse. My period were great, but the pain from the migraines and being laid out on the couch wanting to die was not worth the pain free light periods. It effects everyone differently, but I have honestly not heard anyone having a good experience with Yaz. Talk to your doc and switch.

You can't just "stop" taking the pill! You will end up pregnant that way.

The same thing happened to me on a different pill. I had my period for 30 days because my doctor told me to "wait it out." I said, sure...but after a month, I figured he did'nt have to deal with it, but I did and I asked to change pills. So I changed pills. The next one was better, but I still had break through bleeding. So here's what I do. Since I like being on the pill (I lost 20 pounds!) I just wait until I start bleeding (usually 6 - 7 weeks in between) and I stop taking the pill for 4 days. Then I start again. Originally I wanted to stop my period all together, but my body has different ideas. So this way, I can "tailor" my heavy days to when I can handle them, like on weekends when my husband can be the primary caretaker of our two active boys.

Good luck. I think you just have to find a pill and a system that works for you. Doesn't sound like Yaz is the one for you. Ask your Dr. to try a different one!

Hello!
You've so far lasted longer on it than I did when I took it 6and 1/2 years ago. I took it for midcycle ovulatory pain and I don't know if it helped....I was on it for 5 days and was VERY nauseous, bloated and had nasty headaches every day....Good luck
