Talk to the doctor again or seek a second opinion if yours won't help. I had extended bleeding after our second child and was given a prescription that finally made it stop. You don't have to put up with this indefinitely.
hi, I don't know if anyone else had had this problem but I have had my period for over one month. when my son was born the hospital gave me the depo shot for birth control and then at my six week dr visit my dr stated me on nuva ring for treating my migraines. my son was about one month when the bleeding from birth stopped and I got my first period when he was about two months old. he is now three months and I'm still bleeding!! I went to the dr and she said it is just from comming off the depo but it shows no signs of stopping or getting lighter and I'm getting to the point where I'm always exhausted. if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I didn't read any other responces but yes I had the exact thing happen. I got the shot first then went on nuvaring. From the day I had my daughter I bled for about 4 months. I'm fine now and normal. Stay the coarse and you will quit sometime. The last month wasn't bad but by then I was soooo sick of bleading.
I was never on birth control and went on it during an IVF cycle to conceive my 2nd daughter. I bled the entire time that I was on birth control. It was crazy. My IVF dr said that your tolerence for BC changes after each pregnancy and different BC effect women differently. Some woman are on the same birth control meds for years and then all of a sudden after a pregnancy, they cannot use that brand/form any longer. Maybe you should think about having the nuva ring taken out and see if that stops the bleeding...unfortunately that might be your only option. I can totally understand how crazy this must be making you....a month of bleeding made me crazy. I was ready to throw in the towel with the IVF. Glad I didn't.
First of all get a second opinion. This should NOT be happening! That is not normal. I'm not a doctor but I do think something is wrong.
certainly eat lots of lentils, dark green veggies and good quality beef for iron
