Hello wonderful moms! Just asking, when should be the first dental visit? I've received varying answers from friends and I want to know what you all have to say. My daughter is 1 year old and has 7 teeth and 3 molars. Very grateful for all responses.
My understanding is that 3 is the age when you first start going unless you have a problem requiring a visit sooner. My daugther chipped a front tooth shortly after she turned 2 and we went in - all is well - we're going for her second visit next week and she won't be 3 until October - but we figured we'd keep on a 6 month schedule and we're going to try a teeth cleaning this time...we'll see if it happens :-)
I believe it is 3 years old. the ped doctor always checked my kids teeth at visits, and when you do take her, i recomend a ped dentist as well, they cater so much better to little ones!
If you already have a Pediatric Dentist in mind, call the office and ask when the doctor likes to first see new patients. Mine sees them at age 2 for the first visit, to make sure that the teeth are developing as they should.
Hi I.! You will usually start taking your child once they have all of their molars in. I took my daughter in to see the dentist when she turned 3. For their first visit, it is usually a fun one. Basically to become familiar with the Dentist and have fun with the chair they sit in and the electronic toothbrush. They will also show your daughter how to brush her own teeth. One is still young, she needs more teeth first :)
