Finding Baby Wraps in Milwaukee

I'm in the Milwaukee area and my second is due in 5 weeks. With a 2 year old I will need a carrier and have deduced, from reading all kinds of reviews, that a wrap will probably be the best initially. I'm having trouble finding any retailers locally that carry them so I can look at them and make sure I know what I am getting into! Any information you guys out there could give me would be great! Thanks a lot!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies so much! I'll happily try all suggestions, as they were all helpful, but am especially excited about the cheap, make your own option. Even though it's a long piece of fabric I never would have thought to do that. I am so appreciative that you all took the time to help me out. Thanks!

I bought mine sight-unseen, but I *loved* my Moby Wrap - it's long as a driveway, but that just means it can fit EVERYone. Plus, it's super-comfy and cleans up great. We took a plane to NY to visit family and my little guy pretty much slept in it the entire time (except takeoff/landing). After he was a little big for the wrap, I upgraded to the Ergo Carrier, which is more structured, but still comfortable - he's 2 1/2 and we still use it. It's great - I can carry him for hours. There used to be a little store in Riverwest that had both items, but it's closed (wah!). If you use the "store locator" on the Moby website, there are a few locations in the metro area. You should definitely look into the Ergo once you're ready to move on from the wrap - check Craigslist first (they're pricey but worth it) & online.

I'm a bit behind in my emails so I'm late in responding to this - sorry! I used a wrap with my daughter and LOVED it! I didn't want to spend the $50+ to buy a wrap so I just made one. Got about 5 yards of jersey/t-shirt type material from JoAnn's, cut it in half length-wise (so I now had 2 5 yard pieces of fabric) and got the instructions on how to wrap online from the Moby website. I didn't even need to hem the edges, the jersey type fabric doesn't fray, even with frequent washings. Got tons of compliments, and it was a life-saver - 2 hands free and the baby is safe & snug in there. Good luck!

Diddo to the previous post. Loved the Moby, think the Ergo is awesome! But to your question, there is a birthing center in Menomonee Falls called Well-Rounded Maternity owned by Coral Slavin. Connected there is a cute little retail store called Bellies and Babies for all things baby like wraps, cloth diapers and so on. Here's the website.

Good luck!
