I am looking for ideas for outings/fieldtrips for preschoolers in Albuquerque or surrounding areas. The kids range from 18 months to 6 years old. Both for summer and winter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Oh my, there are SO MANY. Talk to a local homeschooler. We are always setting up something. Try abqhomeschool.com forums. The public forums might have some trips listed. Here's a start:
Walkers Popcorn factory
local small farms
Dion's or other restaurants
The bread company on Carlisle and Indian School
Ranchos de los Golondrinas
train ride
construction site
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center has some great programs
hikes, esp. the Nature Center for easy ones for youngsters
cupcake stores or other bakeries
Mama's Minerals
Tingley Beach
Isleta Lakes
Dixon Apple Farm

How about the zoo, the botannical gardens, Nautral History Museum. The Wheels Museum is all about transportation (Steam engines etc...). There is also Tinkertown. As you can tell, I love museums.

The duck pond on the UNM campus has always been a hit with children too. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I haven't been back to ABQ in ages! Hope you get some great ideas.

I don't know about Albequerque because I have never been there but there are a few things that pretty much every town has.

Library. At the libraries in the towns I have lived in they usually have a children's story time or some type of childrens activity at the library during the day. If they don't offer that, just take the kids to the library and you can make your own story time and let them check out books.

Parks. Some towns have parks that have little water features for the kids to play in. Or take them on a nature hike through a park and find different items you can take home to make crafts such as leafs, branches, rocks, nuts, etc.

Museums. If there is a childrens museum of some type in your area, take them there. They are usually for kids of all ages.

Zoos. If there is a zoo in your area that is a great place to take a group of kids.

Childrens Activities. At the mall in my town they have a childrens activity/show once or twice a week. They sing songs, dance, do crafts, read stories and other fun things. Maybe they do something like that in your area.

Is there a dairy or farm near you? Those are always great for kids.

Nobody mentioned the aquarium yet. Or Explora! There's also Hinkle and ITZ just for fun. There are some great parks around town (and in Rio Rancho), some where you could set up a sort of "field day" or rent a bounce house.

In the fall, there's the various farmer's markets and corn mazes. A little further is the Wildlife West Park in Edgewood.
