Fibromyalgia - Fremont,OH

I was just diagnosed after 7 long, horrible months of wondering what was wrong with me. I am looking for any advice and encouraging stories! I have 3 kids - ages 7, 4, and 19 months. This began as a complex running injury (tendonitis and shin splints in both ankles and calves), which is still there, but has progressed into muscle tightness and achiness/inflammation up legs, hips, and back. I am mostly concerned about being able to get active again - last January I ran 120 miles, and I haven't been able to run at all since June. I know that kind of mileage is never going to happen, but I really am hoping to be able to get to the point that I am able to run again, at least a little. I am leary of starting on medication, as I'm already on meds for acid reflux, anxiety, and depression.

What can I do next?

Nutrition will help. I have a dear friend that received the same diagnosis. She got into nutrition big time and no longer has the issues. Now nutrition is what she does for a living. She recruited me.

You can feel better with supplements and nutrition. If you would like to talk to my friend let me know and I will put you together.

I'm a firm believer that Fibromyalgia is a created disease. (I don't mean fake or non existent but truly manmade.) This new disorder has come after years of synthetic chemicals on the market. The contraindications of simply two medications can creat difficulty so you can imagine if youre taking more than that and combine those with what is absorbed through the skin from your laundry and bath and body products. Our bodies are not meant to be bombarded with synthetics.

I have had several friends with this diagnosis that reversed it (The doctors later told them they must not have had it) by doing a liver cleanse, a colon cleanse and detoxing their house as well as starting on an absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex to rebuild the immune system. The body will heal itself if it has the strength to fight.

Chiropractic care can also allow the neurological system to work effectively with ALL the organs of the body. If you don't have one go to upcspine.com and find one in your area. Interview them like any doctor...If they don't understand the connection between chiropractic care and the immune system, you're in the wrong place....keep looking.

If you want more specific information, feel free to PM me.

God bless,
M.

I was diagnosed a couple years ago, I had all the symptoms and of course my auto immune bloodwork is WAY OFF! I have good and bad days, but my rheumy really pushes for quality sleep so your body can rest. Of course that doesnt help when everyday I wake up my hands are swollen and stiff! The worst part is the over sensitivity to touches. I take cymbalta which helps with the nerve pain as well as the depression that comes with feelings like blah....I have found that stretching, and exercise really helps, which sounds like you do. I just stay active and try to keep my mood up so I dont bring my family down. Feel feel to message me, I dont have anyone to talk to about this either. I used to be an avid cyclist and found last year I really struggled getting past 11 miles!!

A lot of good suggestions about diet. read The Unhealthy Truth by Robyn Obrien. About food of course. Gmo and non-gmo foods. Our food is literally killing us. AVOID aspartame, sucralose and all those other synthetic sugars.

If you're on Depo-Provera, get off it. It can aggravate fibromyalgia, even trigger it in women predisposed to it. When I got off Depo, my fibromyalgia went away and never came back.

Please look into books by Brenda Watson. She also has a web site. She has appeared on PBS several times, and primarily discusses how issues from acid reflux to fibromyalgia and inflammation in our bodies can be caused by things like candida (yeast overgrowth), diet, allergies, and other issues that wouldn't seemed to be linked, but are. I have always been a healthy eater, am not overweight, exercise, but after reading her books and changing some things, am experiencing change for problems I had just grown used to dealing with. It was enlightening.

My mother has a fibromyalgia diagnosis along with other connective tissue problems. She too has brought her symptoms and disease under control with diet. Certain foods create inflammation in our bodies that lead to these types of problems...diet can help with that.
