C.M.
All of the readings are completely normal.
Normal temps can be anywhere from 97-99.
It's not considered a fever until it is 100.4 or higher.

Those strips are not accurate. If you want an accurate reading with an infant, you must use a rectal thermometer. If you were to call the ER or urgent care and they ask for the baby's temp, this is the reading they'd want because it would be baby's core temperature.
Here is a temperature taking guide recommended by a children's hospital:

By regular temp is about 97.2 and my son's is in the 97's as well. My daughter is 99, so it really differs per person. My son also gets fevers that go up to 105-106 and the Dr's have told me to not even give him Tylenol or Advil until it's 105, unless he's miserable. He has a "High Cooker" une ER Doctor told me. My daughter, if she has a fever over 102, she's sick and miserable. So anyway, it really depends on the person.
Best way to take a temperature for a 7 mos old is rectally because that way you have their true core temperature.
Good luck!
With an under arm reading you would add a degree so the 97 degree would really be 98 degrees. So the temp is normal. The most accurate is rectal temperature. I assume the forehead reading would be like the underarm reading.
98.6 is only the average the normal range is 96-100.
My kiddos always feel warm to me I can tell when they have a fever though because instead of just feeling warm they feel like the are on fire and they get miserable
I have one of those too. I think everyone's temperature varies. My temp reads lower and my daughter always has a higher normal temperature.
Normal temps can vary among healthy individuals by several degrees, and a person's temperature can vary several degrees throughout the day. All of the temps you have mentioned are within the normal range.
Normal body temp is 98.6, but MY normal is around 97.3, and my kids vary as well. My oldest is like 98.3, middle is 98.8, and my youngest is like 97.5. I base it on what their personal normal is when taking their temp. I never worry about it until is 102.6 on any of them. That is when I will call their pediatrician. I know they say not to worry until it hits 104, but that is just crazy in my opinion.
a fever is really only considered bad enough to call your doctor when her temp spikes to about 102'F and above. 98.3 is normal. it also depends on the temp in the room. The best thermostat to trust is under the armpit, or mouth or anal.
