Fetal Movement Stopped

I am a little concerned because for the last week I have not felt any movement. I am about 15 weeks pregnant with my second child, so I felt movement fairly early at about 12 weeks. I have not had cramps or any other signs that would signal a miscarriage, so I am wondering if it is normal to go this long without feeling movement. Wondering if anyone may have some insight into 2nd pregnancy and fetal movement.

What can I do next?

I agree. The baby DOES have plenty of room, and although CAN, it is rare that they come in contact with the uterine wall this early in pregnancy. One thing I recommend is a fetal doppler. I had one (rented) so I could check whenever, if ever I felt nervous. It was worth the investment! Eased my mind. Here is where I got it from:

It's $25.00 per month. Good Luck Momma!

generally obgyns want you to call if you experience no fetal movement for longer than 12 hours. i think a couple of things could be going on- not that i want to say that you don't know your body, but 12 weeks is awfully early to feel movement. it's possible that you thought you were feeling movement, but you weren't, and you're going to start feeling kicks and turns in the next week or two which is the more normal range for movement. but if you are feeling nervous, i would call your care provider and schedule an ultrasound asap. have you tried the old trick of drinking a soda (a regular soda with both sugar and caffiene) and laying down for 30 mins to see if the baby responds?

please update us and let us know how everything went!

I think I would get it checked out. That happened to me but I was about 5mos pregnant. I would not wait on this I would get it check out asap just to make sure that there is nothing wrong. That is my advice for you I hope I helped.

Hi--
I just had my third baby and I felt "movment" at 14 weeks I thought-- mine stopped too and I was upset I had them run tests and make sure everything was alright-- my doctor swore to me that I was prob. having gas bubbles becasue at that stage your body goes through so many changes and gas build up is one of them--I was so mad at him at first because I swore I felt him move--after comming to terms that everything was ok and I just had to wait-- My beautiful baby boy started moving non-stop about 19 weeks-- he's 4 months old and is still just as active--

Im not saying that your baby didnt move-- I was jsut giving another option :) I hope I eased a bit of worry--

Call your ob/gyn. Babies don't just stop moving my oldest did that and I had a c-section 6 weeks early because his heart rate dropped with every braxton hix and he was dying. Please go to the doctors

First of all any doctor will tell you if you don't feel it come it to get hooked onto the machine (I had that done with my first daughter they wanted to make sure she wasn't in stress)
Don't stress though, chances are the baby is just moving around (it has tons of room right now)w/o you feeling it or is moving while you are sleeping.

You should go to your OB and at least let them check for a heartbeat. Since it's a holiday you'll probably have to go to the ER. Go early or you will probably be sitting there all day. It will put your mind at ease though, to know for sure the baby is ok.

J.,
I would call my OBGYN and discuss this with them...they may want you to come in and do an U/S...I was feeling my baby flutter around this time last year, she was born on Dec. 28th.
