A friend of mine is looking for a good doctor for fertility. She is a triathlete and has not had her period for about 6 months. She does not have any kids and would like to know a good doctor.

What can I do next?

Can strongly recommend OGI - Obstetrics, Gynocology & Infertility. www.obgynmn.com All doctors are excellent. Most of the female doctors are partners at the firm. One of the best in the biz.

We used the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Paul Kuneck. We had to do in-vetro fertilization and have 2 kids because of this clinic! Their web-site is ivfminnesota.com.

Good luck.

The doctors at Center for Reproductive Medicine are great. We saw Dr. Campbell there and now have a beautiful 4 month old girl. I really thought everyone (doctors and nurses) at the clinic was great.

We just had twin girls this last December by the help of RMC (Reproductive Medical Center). They are associated with the U of M. They were so wonderful as my husband and I went through the IVF process. Wonderful staff and great docs. Matter of fact, they even made Kare 11 news when talking about infertility. Best of luck to your friend!

My brother and sil receive fertility treatments. I don't know the name of their doctor, but I've heard from them and others that the best fertility doctors in the Twin Cities (I assume that is where your friend is looking) are at the University of Minnesota. They switched to a doctor at the U after some frustration with another doctor. Has she cut back on her training? It's not unusual for serious athletes to have irregular periods and I assume that is probably one of the first things a doctor will tell her. Best wishes to your friend.

I used the Reproductive Medicine Center (RMC) at the U of M, with happy results. I chose them over other specialists because they have a psychologist on staff to help with the emotional struggles that coincide with infertility. She was excellent. I can't emphasize that enough.

Also, if I had to do it over again, I would definitely check out Life Healing Life, a acupunture and traditional Chinese Medicine practice in Uptown Minneapolis that specializes in women's health and fertility. The practioner, Nicole, is incredible and so supportive. Website at lifehealinglife.com

I saw Dr. Nagel in Mpls and really like him. I also had acupuncture done at HFA with Terry Ellingsworth. Either or both worked -- as evidenced by my perfect 9 month old son! Best of luck.

I had 2 successful pregnancies with RMIA - Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates. They have offices in Woodbury (main office) as well as Edina. Each Dr. specializes in a different aspect of infertility, so she should be able to find one there that could help her out! Good luck to her!
