OOo, are you feeling ok? No nausea, dizziness, pains?

My mother tripped and fell all the way down a flight of stairs when she was also 35 weeks pregnant. Everything was fine. She went to see her doctor and he told her to rest and be more careful.

Call the doctor and let them know what happened, just so they can have a record of it. If you are home alone, call someone and ask them to come over if you start feeling really tired.

I agree with Mitzi. However, if it was hard enough of a fall that you feel the need for concern, go to the ER and request an ultra sound just to be safe. Congratulations on your little miracle!

Very pregnant women fall all the time and even on their bellies. It's not uncommon bc of the chemical your brain releases that makes your joints loosen up in prep for your hips to open up so you can give birth. God knew this would make you clumsy and so He also made sure your baby would be well protected. There are so many layers between baby and the outside. I would be shocked if your baby suffered at all. I once read an article that said that the amniotic fluid absorbs so much shock that babies are well protected even if a mom falls on her belly. You should never feel bad about calling your OB or midwife in evenings or on weekends if you are worried, though. That's what they get paid for. BTW: Chances are your baby has turned by now and his head was safe inside your pelvis anyway. Even if he hasn't turned by now, though, he's probably fine! I'll say a prayer for you and baby. God bless you!

Probably fine unless you have pain that is not going away somewhere. You're much more likely to hurt yourself than the baby by falling that way. I wiped out on my back on the ice at nine months pregnant while holding my toddler (I was trying to shut the van door) and have a friend who fell belly-first into the street in her last trimester. Call your doctor though if you have any cramping or bleeding.

I would call dr in a.m. just to be safe. Unless of course you start cramping or bleeding then call dr tonight or go to hospital. Better to err on side of caution.

I fell at 35 weeks as well and I called my OB who in turn called the prenatal centre at the hospital and they had me go in for a non stress test. Everything turned out just fine but I would say better safe than sorry
Good Luck

Babies are amazingly protected, but if you are worried, you can go right in and get a non stress test. If you feel okay and your baby is moving well, and you "aren't" worried, just are wondering if you "should" be, then you are probably okay. But like I said, if you are going to wonder about it, you might as well call up L&D and ask to come in for a non stress test. Of course look for any other signs like leaking or bleeding, etc. I just had a client that this happened to and everything was okay. :)

Go to the hospital just to be safe. They will monitor the baby for about an hour or so. I fell when I was 39 wks. I was walking down the street and tripped on a crack in the ground. My instinct kicked in immediately, so I managed to fall on my side, but I still went to the hospital. Everything was ok. I had him 8 days later. :)

Good grief, yes you should worry. Call your OB or go to urgent care now.

I know women who have done this (two) with not probelms to the baby. It is common because pregnant women sometimes have terrible balance and can't see their feet. But goodness, use some good judgement and get checked!!

Go get checked out-you're most likely okay-what with all the cushioning-but call the doc and have him/her meet you at the ER

I slipped and fell on a water spill at an popular store about that far along and aside from a very sore hip and bruising I was fine. I'm sure I could have sued and got tons of money!

uterine lining is some of the most impact absorbing stuff on the planet. As long as your baby is still up and kicking, I'm sure you're fine.

I fell when I was about 35 weeks along too, only I slid and did the splits. (slipped on spilled shampoo in an aisle at walmart). I actually left the store, but turned around and filed an incident report. My brother is an attorney and said it would be a good idea to have the incident documented. He also told me to call my doctor right away. My doctor said to go to the hospital to get checked out. I was fine and my baby girl is a healthy two year old running around as I write this, but you should probably be checked out to make sure especially since you fell directly on your tummy. Good luck and I hope everything is ok!!
