I think you can use puff paint on most fabric--that should "grip" them up a bit. OR you can just cut off the footy part & have her wear grippy socks.
I have just been given several pairs of hand me down carters pajamas...the good fleece ones...in my daughters size! Hooray! The problem is, the tread on the bottom of the feel is all worn out and she keeps slipping on the wood floor. They are in perfect condition otherwise..any suggestions on what I can use to put some tread back on those feet? I'd hate to throw them away!!!

Go to Michael's Crafts or A.C. Moore and pick up tubes of fabric paint that you squeeze out and write like a pen, then make zigzags on the bottoms of the feet, going across the width of them. Once they are dry for a day you can let her wear them. I do that to old socks for my kids and even myself too and even on the underside of throw rugs, it works wonderful. Make the zigzags thick (about 1/8 - 1/4 inch) so that they can grip the floor when she walks.

Dots of hot glue from a hot glue gun (if u have one)
Buy some puffy fabric paint to paint treads on - that's what I do with my daughter's treadless socks. Works great.
No idea re: tread. You can just snip off the bottom and fold it over.
Puff paint if they are not worn through. My mom used to buy them used without the feet (with them worn through rather) and she just knitted "slippers" which she sewed on instead. They were very comfy. I am too lazy myself to do this and thankfully have not needed to. If the feet are intact, though, puffy fabric paint should work fine.
We cut the feet off and wear socks then can take them off when they getr into bed.
or you could just get them some houseshoes that are a bit too big and the sleeper feet will fit, then when they take their shoes off they will still have covered feet.
You can buy the material to sew into the foot area. you will need to order it online, then take and opent he seam to remove the current piece, make a pattern from the old foot, don't forget the seam allowance, and after cutting it out sew it in and you have new bottoms.
I have made footy PJ's and found it a tiny bit annoying to sew the fabric but if you have bees wax then if your needle gums up you can fix it by coating the thread with the wax.

Looks like Joanne Fabrics carries it now.

make dots with puffy paint? (you know the kind, you get it at craft stores and decorate t-shirts with it?)
One Step Ahead (www.onestepahead.com) sells "Grippies - they are $15.95 for 48 of them. They are iron on grippers that go on the feet of socks, pajamas, etc. They say 48 will do 6-9 pairs of socks. The puffy paint that others recommend does sound cheaper but I thought I would share this info as well. Good luck.
get some of those slipper socks that have tread on them, and either put them on over the PJS (cutting off the feet first) or cut off the feet and sew the slipper socks on.
I would just cut the feet off.
puffy paint or use a hot glue gun (just not while you're baby is wearing the PJs - duh)

My youngest boy as a tot would not give up his footed pj's that were tattered only on soles. I took gripper slipper socks and attached them and on the inside went further to line them with layers of old receiving blankets for extra padding! He adored them.
But this was 20 yrs ago!!!!
