Feeling like Single Parents

Recently my husband's hours changed and we are on oposite schedules. It saves us money on daycare, but when each of us have our two days off, we are taking care of our 13 month old all by ourselves. My family lives out of state and my friends don't live close by. I want to take my son places to play and mingle with other babies, but don't know where to take him because of the heat. Any ideas? Just feeling really lonely.

What can I do next?

Artville at the mesuem of youth in downtown Mesa is a great indoor place. The toddler water areas at San Tan Village and tempe town lake are great for morning actives, I am out by AJ and have a small playgroup going. If you would like to do something with us, email me ____@____.com

I recommend connecting with your local MOMS club (just google it). They're great!

Check out MOMSCLUB.org. It's a national mom's club and has chapters in Gilbert, Chandler, etc. They plan weekly activities, monthly "mom's night out" and organize playgroups with other moms who have kids the same age. We moved to Gilbert 5 yrs ago and that's where I met all my mom-friends. I don't know of any similar clubs for dads specifically, but the mom's club will give you lots of ideas of indoor places to take the kids in the summer. Don't be lonely and alone - there are lots of moms out there just like you!

You can join play groups. cafemom.com is another mother site where you can find and meet people in your area as well as others with similiar interest. I can relate except I have 3. I take care of them all day by myself. Their dad works long days. I never get time away or a break or even a vacation so its draining! I am in school FT so its alot on my plate. I use to do play dates but don't have time for that anymore but that helped when I just had twp and they were small.
