www.wholesomebabyfood.com is an excellent source. Although at 1 year you don't have a whole lot to worry about.

Like the PP, I also give regular meals with the rest of the family- baby eats what we eat (sometimes it requires some alterations, like cutting the corn off the cob.)You can do two snacks as well (midmorning, say 9:30 AM, and afternoon, when he starts taking only one nap it's good to have the second snack when he gets up.) I give milk IN A CUP with meals and if he is used to having milk before bed you could give him a little milk then as well.

Don't cut the bottles out cold turkey. Give water through other parts of the day such as snack time. You can mix 4 oz of juice with 4 oz of water and give that to him (divide into two servings if he doesn't drink that much.)

I love the book Super Baby Foods. It has a quick and easy guide line to follow on feeding. I dont make my own like the book suggests. I think at one you can start her on milk no longer formula. Good luck.

When my daughter was 1, I was still nursing 3x per day. I would feed her breakfast right when she woke up(waffles, eggs, toast, pancakes, fruit)then nurse her a little. Then lunch was right before nap (chicken, a veggie, and a carb), then nurse. Dinner was same as lunch. As far as how much, I would try about a tablespoon of each (meat, carb, veggie) and then always offer more if she wanted more. She was eating what my husband and I ate at this ate, just chopped up real small. You always let them control how much they eat. She would always spit out her last bite, and thet was the sign that she was done, or she would turn her head as I tried to give a bite. I hope I helped!

Read Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. She details everything you need to know about feeding by age.

Traci,
I was so confused when my first started solids and cut back on formula and how much and when and ...well it was over whelming.
Here's what worked best for us, I did not give liquid one hour before meals...and she ate when we ate as a family, breakfast lunch and dinner. plus her in between snacks, I took her off the bottle the day she turned one and all she got was from cups. I gave her liquids at snack times. I did not give her anything at nap time or bedtime, the no food in the rooms rule went into place. As long as it was healthy she new baby sign language so she could easily ask for drinks, snacks or anything else she needed.
My best friend gave me the best advice ever, "Whatever Works" as long as you keep it healthy and keep it safe.
Good Luck.

I always fed my children when the family ate, including snack time, and would offer then small pieces of whatever we were eating. In fact, by 10-11 months my children refused baby food and would only eat table foods. As far as formula, after 1 babies can transition to whole milk. Hope this helps.
