For anyone that has a local Whole Foods or stocks up when they go, like I have to, I am wondering what your favorite item is. I have to travel for work and will be in a city with a Whole Foods (I actually made sure that my hotel is near one!! I'm so obsessed.) When I go, I tell to stroll the aisles and want to buy everything. I am looking for suggestions of some of your favorite things that I should try. On my list so far is the 360 Olive Oil and Chard. Anything else I should consider?

Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I do blame Jessica for me eating that whole bag of chips and the tub of guac for dinner! I never would have seen them without her suggestion. I think some of those parishable items will have to wait till I get one near me (currently targeted at 2012, but most likely 2015 or later), but thank you for all the suggestions.

I am a WF junkie... but I have to admit, I buy mostly perishables. Seafood is to die for, for example.
I agree with a previous poster - the WF made chips - they are exclusive to the Denver area as far as I know. I didn't see them in Oregon or in Michigan. So, depending on what store you are at. (They are AWESOME though - with the guacamole) Also... I love the sonoma chicken salad, but I can tell you which one you bought it at the moment I taste it. Same with the chicken noodle soup.
I think WF makes the best ginger snaps - you buy those in the bulk aisle. I also like these cookies carried there - they come in a small bag in the cookie section they are sunflower seed cookies. I also like those Blissingers chocolate covered sesame seed squares.
Have fun!!

TVP - Textured vegetable protein. I put it in chilis, soups, stews. It looks, taste, acts just like meat. And no, we are not vegetarians, but I can honestly not tell the diff.

They'll have great whole food vitamins for both kids and you.

Love the bins of beans, flours, rices, nuts, cereals, etc. I'm always trying something there.

Love the Ezekial breakfast muffins. Those are my absolute FAV!!!

Love the natural meats and wild caught salmon/halibut/seafood.

Love the Greek yogurts and take and bake cookies.

I like all the bins with the grains, flours, mixes. They have a great pancake mix that my 5 yr old grandson likes and i buy sweet brown rice since i'm on a low-carb diet. They have a great selection of rices. i'm so excited that one is opening about 8 miles from me!

Hmmm... I live about 10 blocks away from WF (and 10 from trader joes)... both are where I do my "discount" shopping. AKA things I get for less there than anywhere else.

The olive oil is a classic example... $5 there, vs $15-20 elsewhere.

Most of the rest is perishable (greens, frozen things like edamame or fava beans or tatertots, milk, macrina baguettes -best bakery outside of italy or france imho is macrina-, etc.).... but here are the non-perishable things I buy pretty exclusively at WF:

- Olive Oil
- Garam Masala - bulk
- Large Flake Nurtrional Yeast - bulk (for loading up on popcorn with kosher salt)
- Pepperman (a pepper mixture that is just heavenly on greens with garlic and oil, fish, meats, and makes fresh slices of tomatoes to die for)
- Lentils (the roundy green ones, they hold their shape in soups as opposed to the orange or greyish ones)
- Cheeses

Their home made tortilla chips and guacamole. The tortilla chips are tri-color (Orange, Green and White) and usually by the home made guacamole. Oh my gosh amazing. I take no responsibility for you eating the whole bag :)

well it's not Whole Foods, but they may have these..... I love Trader Joe's RICE CRACKERS. SO tasty. My MIL brought me 5 bags last time she came to Texas (from California). I don't find them at local grocery stores here. They are so incredibly tasty.

My kids LOVE the veggie chips, I'm not sure exactly what they're called. Also, I don't always see then, but for a perishable yummy snack to at least have some is thier raspberry oat bars. They are to DIE for.
