Ann Taylor loft.....I do so well in their petite section
I'm down to just a couple tees for summer and am looking for a sure bet (or as sure as I can get!) for some decent tees. I'm looking for a store which offers a bit more 'classic' clothing cuts, but nothing super-stuffy or prim-looking. The trend these days toward the short cap sleeves and larger/deeper neck-openings just looks sloppy on me. Any suggestions?
Some very nice suggestions, thank you. I checked out the Ann Taylor site and think one of their models is Courtney from last season's Bachelor...hee hee. That was kind of funny...
I appreciated your 'I know what looks good on me', Susan. My problem is, I am really fashion impaired and have very little idea of what looks good on me, which is why I live in jeans and tees these days. Anyone want to come help me shop? :)
And yes, LillyM, you read my question exactly right!

I went to Dress Barn with a friend. One of the sales lady was how you described yourself. She was dressed so nice, nothing over the top just nice casual. She says Dress Barn is the only place that she finds clothing that is appropriate for her *curves*.
I like Ann Taylor. Their clothes are fashionable and offer different cuts for different shapes.
Dawn
I am petite and curvy... ever since I was pregnant with my first child.
LOL
I used to be a stick and straight figured.
Anyway, so I shop at Old Navy a lot.
Or try Macy's. They have a good selection in petites. At least the one in my city has. It may be regional. Don't know. But Macy's is known for having a lot of petite brands/lines.
And Macy's always has lots of coupons and sales.
Here is the link for the Macy's "petites" section:

They have many different petites, brands and styles.
I always just wear what I like and what I know will look nice on me.
Am I reading your question right? --you want some tee shirts for girls with boobies?
I am a 36DD and 5 '2 My best store for Tshirts is wait for it..... Kmart, gasp! really their Basic Editons brand, inexpensive!! BUT they are thick enough to actually -cover. they had a few different cuts I like the modern cut which is a little more formfitting, they have a traditional or something that is a little more boxy if you have a little bit more muffin top to cover. And i do have tummy rolls, but even the modern cut skims them with out hanging like a paper bag. I only ever get the solid colors. I assume you weren't talking about embellished or graphic t's.?? I don't think they look too old lady, maybe certain colors do like the pastel blue, but i usually stick to white, black, pink. my signature colors lol.
I have never ever found Old Navy tee's to be any good, first off i just think most everything in that store is poor quality. The shirts are super super thin and very very LONG. And they are not boobie curve friendly in my opinion.
I've tried t's from JC penny the St Johns bay, I love their petite pants but the T's even in petite are too long and the necklines always stretch out of shape and the color fades. My girls fit in them ok though with out too much cling or hang.
So weird that Kmart would seem like better quality but I've been very happy with them. Oh and usualy they go on sale for like $6 I"m sure they aren't more than $10 or less normally.
Talbots actually has some really nice stuff right now and they have a petite dept. I would also try Ann Taylor petites and also LOFT petites. Both have pants specifically for curvy women if you need pants.
I agree that Ann Taylor has good petite looks.
