We went in Sept and my eight year old and five year old twins loved the tower of terror, barnstormer, and the seafaring ride at epcot. The fast passes are a great thing to do too for the rides you really want to go on. Mine all loved the shows too...lion king, fantastic, bugs life, beauty and the beast, etc. The shows ar all worth it too! Have a great time!

Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion... anything in New Orleans Square is worth the wait. I love Space Mountain but had to trick my kids into getting on with me (I'm so mean ;). I also loved Tower of Terror, but I had to go by myself. They were on to my tricks by then. :(

Have fun!

@Magic Kingdom...don't miss Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, I forget the name of the roller coaster right near Splash Mountain, Pirates, Mickey's Philharmagic, Peter Pan.
@MGM or Hollywood Studios...The Toy Story ride...it is the BEST, fast pass and go on it, so fun!, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Aerosmith roller coaster, Muppet 3d.
@Epcot, the ride in Norway, Soarin, Grand Prix
@Animal Kingdom, Everest, Congo Rapids, Dinosaur

Not sure what the ages you have. I agree that Lilo and Stitch is not worth it.

It depends on age usually . Our favorite ride is Toy Story Mania. Everyone loves it ! You must get a fast pass for it the minute you walk in the park , preferably when they open otherwise there wont be any left . You may have to wait an hour. By the way , if it says on the wait time one hour it is usually a little less . so remember that for all rides . You will have to wait at something for a long time so plan accordingly by having everyone go potty get a drink etc.
We also love Test Track,Soarin,Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribbean ,Magic Carpets. You can go to Pirates and the Carpets with very little line at night also Small World has a minimal wait .The race cars at MK has a wait and it is so hot in the sun so try to go when the sun goes down .
If you go on the Disney web site the kids can look at the rides to see what they like . Have a Magical Trip !

My husband and I go about once a year. We are retired. We LOVE all the rides. Yes, even Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh. If you have never been there, you will love every ride.

I think it depends on your kids, their ages, and what you think they can handle. I highly recommend getting a copy of the "Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld" and reading it over before your trip. It can be overwhelming, but it's a great resource for knowing how the rides stack up and which might be a ton of fun, but more than a small child can handle. Some little kids think the Haunted Mansion is a hoot, others could be really scared. The nice thing about "Unofficial" is that it gives you different "touring plans" for hitting the rides while minimizing waiting in line. If your kids are small and all about going on Dumbo and Peter Pan and whatnot, it's best to hit those rides first thing, as soon as the park opens, because the lines will fill up quickly after 11, and it's not worth waiting 90 minutes to ride Dumbo!

Certainly, you will want to go on all the "super headliner" attractions, like Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Soarin', etc. My daughter was 3.5 when we went to Disney World, and 4.5 when we went to Disneyland (which has many of the same rides). She loved all the small-scale rides (Dumbo, Peter Pan, Teacups, etc), Splash Mountain, It's A Small World, Tomorrowland Speedway, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and the Jungle Cruise (all Magic Kingdom, didn't do anything "bigger"). She also liked Toy Story Mania in Hollywood Studios, Kiliminjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom, and Soarin' and Finding Nemo at Epcot (which has Turtle Talk with Crush at the end). Obviously she wasn't big enough to do anything bigger, like Space Mountain or Rockin' Roller Coaster, and she didn't like Pirates of the Caribbean so much, but my stepsons went on them when we took them when they were younger (they were 6 and 7 and just tall enough) and loved it. When we went last year, they had Expidition Everest in Animal Kingdom and that was really fun. Kali River Rapids is good too, but you will get soaking wet! In Epcot they also liked GM Test Track, and in Hollywood Studios, Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster.

If your kid has their heart set on riding Dumbo, it's fine if it's only going to be 10 or 20 minutes....but not 2 hours like some people will! Same thing for some of the smaller scale rides, like Peter Pan and Speedway - so not worth a 1 to 2 hour wait! Also, use Fast Pass wherever you can! It will save you a ton of time waiting in line!

ETA: Waiting in line to meet characters? Again, depends on your kid. Some are fine, some get really shy. Some are really excited and then at the end, chicken out! Or some, like my daughter, act all reluctant the whole time in line, then when we actually get up there, are totally fine! Again, just depends if you think waiting in line for up to an hour is worth it!

the its a small world was wayyy too long and boring although no wait but a good way to cool off if need be

the princesses were worth the wait
if you want rides with no lines go to bsch gardens 30 minute drive and cheaper and tons more actual rides
we did our rides there and then disney for the magical stuff and some rides worth the wait

Peter Pan is a definite need to do. Also Pirates.
I hate, but would do, It's a Small World (I am totally convinced that leaving Disney and having that mind numbing song rattling through your head is part of the "Disney Experience" that your kids will remember and joke about the rest of their lives).
Winnie the Pooh is skippable, but is ok. If your kids really like Pooh, fine, but the ride itself is rather boring.
Haunted Mansion, do it.
Space Mountain--- cannot skip this.
Buzz Lightyear is fun, too. It's laser tag in a ride...
I could do without the little alien one though... Lilo and Stitch.

ETA:
Mickey's PhilharMagic is amazing. Do not skip it.

Soarin was great and also the space flight simulator one (foreget the name) I liked all the ones done in a theater setting with glasses too.
I didn't think rides like Pirates of the Carribean, Peter Pan, etc were worth it at ALL. But if you have really little ones they will probably like those.

Ummm first Busch Gardens is more like an hour and a half from Disney...we go to Disney at least once a month and the rides we do everytime are small world,( my 8 month old loves it) pirates, splash mountain, haunted mansion. If you are going to any other parks star tours and tower of terror @ studios are popular. At animal kingdom Everest is fun, and of course the safari trek. And Epcot has spaceship earth. Enjoy
