Hi Mammas!
We'll be in Nashville for a week at the end of this month for our family reunion. We'll be staying on 4th Avenue. We have an almost 2 and almost 4 year old and are looking for fun things to do and see in the area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The Science Museum is a lot of fun for kids that age. They won't "get" some of the exhibits, but there are preschool age-appropriate things, and it's fun just for them to explore. The website is http://www.adventuresci.com/
Hope you have a great trip! I have lived here my entire life - it's a great city!

You can also check out the Nashville Zoo...it is very family friendly and has an awesome playground. Also...try to grab a Nashville Parent magazine..it has a calender of events going on in Nashville...your hotel ought to have one. Downtown Nashville also offers carriage rides and a Duck Tour(boat that goes in water and on land.) on the Cumberland River. The library down town..near 6th and church has puppet shows frequently and a very cool childrens area. Oh yeah you need to check out the Bicentenial Mall (not a real mall...and outdoor one) which has fountains for the kids to play in and alot of history of TN and is right next door to our Farmers Market....great to get out and stretch your legs. Just go down the hill from where you are at. Nashville Shores is our popular waterpark. Demo's on 3rd Ave is a good place to eat with kids! Also "must see" The Arcade (covered area between 4th and 5th...over 100 yrs old) check out the Peanut Shop for ice cream, sodas and candy..and on 5th there is a Walgreens and Dollar Store! I work on 4th :)

You could take a picnic and some food for the ducks and spend all day at Centennial Park. It is really pretty.

You can also see the Parthenon while you're there.
