Facial Threading ... If You've Done It, Can You Share?

I'm considering facial threading. Not eyebrows, but cheeks. I have a fine bit of blonde 'fluff' on the side of my cheeks. Nothing too bad, but it bugs me and is noticeable in direct light. I guess I've inherited it from my mom; she has it, too.

Just wondering if you've had threading done for this purpose and what your experience was.

(BTW, yes, my hormone levels are fine)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! And awesome suggestion on the sugaring, Everley; I'm going to try that!

I ordered the REM spring facial hair remover from amazon.com to remove the fine, blonde hair on my cheeks and it works pretty well and isn't too painful. It was only $13, so it might be worth a try...

A friend of mine gets the same thing on her face, and she just shaves. I can't even tell she does it.

Anyway, I've had threading done for my eyebrows and for my upper lip, and I'm not a fan. In my experience, the thread 'breaks' the hair off at the skin surface, and doesn't pull it out by the root, which means the hair comes back much faster. I have also gotten sort of burns from the friction of the threads. I tried it multiple times but it wasn't for me.

Also, I can't see it working for very fine 'fluff' type hairs that you are referring to. If I were you I would either shave or use something like Nair (they make it for facial hair and sensitive skin).

This is my personal experience from getting my eyebrows done only.
HORRIBLE PAIN, if someone tells you it doesn't hurt they are wrong. By the time she was done I wanted to slap her LOL I will never ever do it again. I will go back to waxing.

I've never had it done. But i have seen ladies that were concerned about it and had it done.

In all of the cases I've seen the before and after, I like the before better.

Just a man's point of view. (BTW, I like your profile picture, but it doesn't do you justice.)

Good luck to you and yours.

I had my eyebrows done once and I will not do it again. Besides the fact that it hurt WAY more than waxing, it wasn't very effective.
I felt like a lot of the brow hair was just "cut" at the skin instead of being pulled out, root and all.
I have crazy dark eyebrows and they are thick. When I get them waxed I don't have to pluck for a couple of weeks, when I got them threaded I was back at plucking within a couple of days.

I get it done ones a month for years my whole face and I feel like a million bucks after that every time. The good thing is that you hair will grow finer and it takes more than a month to grow back anyways I would recommended and by the way don’t use a racer it would grow like crazy and you don’t want that on you face good luck I hope this helps :)

Huh... I guess I'm the opposite side of the coin from the everyone else who responded. I get my eyebrows threaded and love it. It hurts about the same as waxing for me, but with waxing I always get red bumps on my skin that last for at least 24 hours, and with threading I can go out in public five minutes later and look normal. I don't have any fine hairs on my cheeks, so haven't had that done... but I really wonder if threading would work. The hairs might not be stiff enough for the thread to grab. Have you ever tried sugaring at home? There's a product called Moom that is great. It's like waxing, but it's a sugar solution rather than a wax solution so you're not left with stickiness on your skin. How about trying something like that first?
