I have a set of white curtains that I am considering dying blue for my sons room.I was wondering if anyone has done this before. So if you can recommend a dye or tips that would be great! Thank you.

I've used Rit dye. It works well. Just follow the directions to the letter, and if the fabric is pretty thick you'll want to use more dye. Also, I noticed with some slip covers that I did, it was helpful to let them sit in the dye for a while with the washer off, just soaking in it. Then I turned it back on and let it finish the cycle.
I've always had good results with Rit dye. the longer you leave it soaking in the color, the deeper it will be.
I have used Rid dye before to dye jeans and other fabrics and it works well. However, buy an inexpensive 5 gallon bucket to dye them in or it will dye the inside of your washing machine. You can buy one at Home Depot for a couple bucks.
MY LITTLE GIRL USED TO DO PAGEANTS, AND WE HAD TO DYE MATERIAL FOR HER OUTFITS ALL THE TIME, BECAUSE WE WANTED COLORS THAT YOU GENERALLY COULD NOT FIND IN THE CHIFFON.....WE USED THE ACRYLIC CRAFT PAINTS, LIKE APPLE BARREL, AND PUT THE MATERIAL IN A BUCKET, EMPTY THE PAINT INTO THE BUCKET...HALF IF THE MATERIAL IS THIN...OR ALL IF THE MATERIAL IS THICK OR THERE IS ALOT OF IT, THEN ADD A LITTLE WATER, ENOUGH TO MAKE THE PAINT THIN ENOUGH TO COVER THE MATERIAL.....RING IT OUT, AND THEN PUT IT IN THE DRYER. YES, YOU WILL HAVE TO CLEAN YOUR DRYER OUT BUT IT IS EASY. DRY THE MATERIAL AND THEN IRON IT. IT HAS TO BE HEAT SET IN ORDER TO STAY IN THE FABRIC. HOPE THIS HELPS. WORKED WONDERFUL FOR US!
Natural fibers (cotton) accepts dye much better than synthetics (poly blends). Hot water helps. Let is soak and stir occasionally. The longer is soaks the deeper your color.
Rit dye works the best.
