My 13 month old daughter who used to eat anything has become so picky i don't know what to do. All she wants is crackers and morning star farm (fake sausage patties) she will also eat blueberries and blackberries but that is pretty much it. I feel like i need to find a way to get her to eat vegetables and i need help figuring out a way of getting her to do this. If anyone has some good suggestions that would make me so happy. I get so frustrated. It makes it even more difficult because i watch my neices and they too are picky so it's not like i can't not have the things around that i don't want her to eat. She sees them eating all these snack foods and thats all she wants.

What can I do next?

Have you tried having her help "prepare" the foods she is going to eat - it may help her interest. Maybe even giving her the option of choosing between two foods to help her feel like she has a choice, though you picked the foods she gets to pick from - she may be a bit too young for this. I feel for you, my niece who is now four has always been a picky eater and eats like a bird. Her food choices are microwavable mac and cheese and sweets! Don't give up on offering the foods you want her to eat. Kids need many many exposures to new food before they will even try them. Good luck!

Here's a great recipe for sneaking veggies into your toddler, plus they taste good for grownups too:

Definitely omit about half the sweetener the recipe calls for, though, or they might as well be cake. They will still be pretty sweet, kind of like a carrot cake/zucchini bread hybrid. You might try mini-muffin size for your little one.

I'm in the same boat :] These worked for me , yo-baby yogurt, turkey dogs, canned apricots, string cheese, broccoli in cheese sauce. I also give a suppliment {poly-vi-sol} Remember don't push, and try to have patience. Just keep trying new things :} XOXOXO

Vegetable lasagna worked for my daughter. Most supermarkets sell it already BJ's has a brand Aliki, that has lots of veggies yet still tastes good, and lower in sodium than most.

The whole group (your daughter and nieces) should have a balance of foods in front of them. Let them choose a starch (bread, crackers, chips, etc), a fruit, a meat or cheese, a veggie. Put it down in front of them and forget about it. The more you stress and cajole, the worse the situation will become. You can't make your kids eat any more than you can make them sneeze. You may try Flat earth Veggie chips- not equal to veggies but contains some veggies and can make you feel a little better. My daughter went through a stage where she would eat only pop-tarts and goldfish crackers. Then I took her grocery shopping with me a few times and let her pick out whatever she wanted. We ended up with some cereal that looked like colored mouse poop, bananas, and fruit cups. It was slow, but eventually she came around to eat almost anything we do, except for the meat. If it's not chicken slathered in BBQ sauce, she won't touch it. Her doctor told me that as long as she wasn't eating all sweets and was drinking milk and getting a vitamin she would be alright with her picky eating for a while. Years ago I remember my cousin, now 19, went about 3 months eating NOTHING except katsup on white bread. And he's fine. :)

My daughter is also a relatively picky eater and wants to survive on crackers and toast but recently I found out that she really likes soups like the Healthy choice rice and chicken which also has carrot and celery and peas. So my husband made some at home with chicken stalk and brocolli and sausages and peas. She doesn't even go near these meats and veggies otherwise but in a soup form she seems to love them, so sharing my 2 cents, just in case it works for you too!
Warning: Her clothes will be thorougly wet after this meal but if they eat well what else do you need!
