Ok Hopefully you all can give me answers 1st ? when working out if you wear fitted or suppotive clothes will you burn more fat? Is running better than fast walking to burn more fat? Or is it the same? Last but not least when doing situp is it more effective for your lower ab lifts if you have your hands at your waste or above like your gonna do a curl on a bar? Or Both? Thanks for the answers greatly appreciate them!!!

What can I do next?

The most effective type of exercise is the type(s) you will do every day. The best clothing to wear is the kind you are most comfortable in. The details really don't matter much. If you want to work your abs effectively, follow a Pilates approach.

Aside for those crazy suits that make you sweat off water weight attire makes no difference.

Running vs walking, actually walking fast burns more calories than running and is easier on your knees. If you engage your abs while walking you actually work your girdle as well, win win!

So far as your arm position while doing sit ups straight above your head offers the best resistance therefore works your abs better. The biggest thing with sit ups or any abs work is making sure you don't swing your arms reducing resistance making them less effective. If you look at a Pilates sit up it is an example, if properly executed, of the most effective form.

I don't think the type of clothing contributes to amount of fat burning. If an item "claims to burn more fat," then it's most certainly a sham.

As for running vs. walking. I think it depends on the individual. You can be a slow runner or a fast walker.

Not sure about the ab lifts. Just concentrate on using your abs as opposed to your neck and back.

As a whole, I would stop worrying about how much fat you burn and just choose an activity you enjoy and know you will stick with.

I personally LOVE the Reebok Easy Tone pants. I didn't buy them because they made all sorts of claims but for the compression aspect. When I started running I didn't like the giggle for two reasons. One, it was uncomfortable and weird feeling and two, I wasn't comfortable knowing other people behind me were looking at my butt.

Those pants make you look REALLY good and actually MAKES me want to work out more/longer. They're really comfortable even though they don't look like you could get your FOOT thru them!

Running will burn more calories faster but INCLINE WALKING does the same too. I mix up my 30 minutes with both. Most people hate running but running is EASY compared to an eight or nine on the incline. I watch the calorie counter more than anything. The distance means nothing to me. I look at the time and calorie burn (even though those counts aren't the most accurate.)

The most UNDERRATED piece of work out equipment is the rowing machine. You work EVERY part of your body and is actually harder than running but is LOW IMPACT! I do 3300 meters in 30 minutes and that is so much more tiring than 30 minutes of treadmill running. I can feel my abs getting a CRAZY work out every time I pull back. My waist is now two sizes smaller in less than a month and I JUST bought new pants. (I know..."rich people problems.")

I'm lucky to have a husband that works for a big company and they buy the best equipment for their work out facility. Never in a million years would I have tried rowing and now I'm a HUGE lover of rowing!

What you wear doesn't matter, but if looking nice puts you in a good mood id splurge on some fitness attire if I were you, look good, feel good gave more motivation,.

Running will obviously burn more calories per mile, but you will likely walk longer and might burn more. Its difficult to answer. Your best bet is to alternate cardio and strength training, it burns more than just plain cardio and tones while your at it.

You want to target the abs in many different ways ,,,, sit ups and crunches are fine but you also want to target the obliques and lower back also. So look up a workout called "squirms" "side sit ups", standing sit ups",plank position variations"...... Pilates will help strengthen core and teach you abdominal/ breathing to maximize your benefits. Yoga has certain positions that are excellent an toners because they use your body weight and improve your form, try " crow", boat ", "goddess, "and chaturanga push up".

But don't do anything too repetitively, switch it. Up and keep it fresh to obtain the most potential for change .

Fast walking uphill is the BEST way to burn fat. Better then running. Running has good benefits too, but its not as effective for fat burning as walking.

When doing ab work, I do each area separately. Upper abs - simple crunches keeping butt on the floor, no rocking. Lower abs, I lay on back with legs straight up and ankles crossed, then lift butt up off the floor, hands at waist. I do bicycle crunches for obliques. I do sets of 10 four times (120 total).
