My husband is adamently opposed to the big "V", so I had it done it October. Aside from some bad cramping and bleeding for a couple of days, it was a piece of cake. I was back to normal activities w/in 48 hrs. I have a co-worker that recovered even quicker, but apparently I had more cramping and bleeding than she did. I had to wait 3 months and then go get a special sonogram where they confirmed that the tubes were closed properly and then I got my all-clear. If you've been to the essure website it explains everything pretty much like it happened to me. It was minimally invasive & super quick recovery and now I don't have to take anything or worry about getting pregnant. I highly recommend it!! If you have any more questions PM me and I'd be happy to answer them.
btw- Insurance should cover it, but it depends how your policy is written and what contract they have w/ your Dr. My co-worker and I have the same insurance, but I had to have mine as outpatient surgery instead of at my Dr.s office and had to pay for it out of pocket. I've been going to my Dr. for 8 1/2 yrs though so there was no way I would've had anyone else do it.
