So I go this Wednesday to have the essure procedure done. After 5 years I've gotten my IUD out and was considering permanent birth control. The doctor thought the essure would be the best for me as it could be done in the office. When getting my IUD out there was some problems so my doctor recommended that instead of getting the essure in the office I come in to the surgery center and have it done, also my insurance wouldn't cover it to be done in the office. So I've looked on the essure website and read everything I can about it the more searching I've done and blogs I have read hasn't been any good. I have not found one good review about the essure. Has anyone had this done or know anyone that has??? Did they have good experience and problems???

What can I do next?

I think the people that have had problems are the ones to seek out the internet to tell their story. I had it done last year and it's been great. No problems. Procedure was pretty easy and quick. Just some cramps during and after for a day. Then it was back to normal. Cramps were gone with Advil.

It was super easy when my friend had it done. She and hubby went to the doc's office to do it. She got up and they went shopping. Then they went and ate sushi. They drove 45 minutes to get home then she cleaned house. She did lay down for a little while but she takes a nap nearly every day. The next day she said it felt like regular monthly cramps for about an hour. Then nothing. She didn't have any other problems. When she went back the doc did the test to see if anything got through the block and nothing got through. It was very effective and did it's job well.

I just recently had Essure procedure done. While the recovery time was longer than expected ( I also had a D&C and a uterine ablation), I have had no issues. I hope everything goes well for you!

I had it done almost 2 years ago.
Procedure was pretty easy with very little pain (just a bit of cramping in one tube during it). In and out in 30 minutes. I was awake and watched the whole procedure on the monitor.

HSG test showed 100% blocked at 3 mos after the test. (BTW, I've read a lot from people about the HSG test being really painful. I felt nothing during mine. Nothing. At. All.)

I've had no problems with it at all since then. I feel great! My periods are lighter than before hand, too.

Keep in mind that you'll read a LOT of negative on the web, becuase people that want to complain want to do it loudly.
